Cardigan: Nordstrom Rack
Dress: Hand-me-down (orig. F21)
Belt: Love Culture
Boots: Frye
No one told me that my belt and boots don't match... but are they supposed to? Is it okay if the shade of brown is off? I have no clue, and I don't really care. What I do care about though, is that my husband did not tell me that my belt was all crooked. Boo.
Today, I was inspired by Dotty's outfit. She mixed a black dress with a turquoise belt and scarf, and brown boots. Very simple combination, but I loved the colors. Since I do not own a turquoise belt and scarf, I decided I'd sub in this super super old cardigan that I haven't worn in years.
These boots are the most expensive pair of shoes I own... and I love them to death. Usually when I buy expensive things (ie., costing more than $20), I regret it almost immediately (like my Lululemon workout pants I just picked up yesterday from getting hemmed... but all sales are final so I'm kind of stuck with them)... but with these boots, I have not regretted it one bit. Maybe because Shopbop had an after-Thanksgiving promo, AND I had a gift certificate, so I got a pretty darn good deal on them. Happy almost one-year birthday to my boots!

This is a super cute outfit! I think it's totally okay that your belt and boots don't match, I'm getting to where I think it's totally okay to wear black and brown together (it used to be such a no-no for me)
ReplyDeletei loveeee that color combination! and of course the boots. i've been longing for a pair of frye boots for what seems like forever. good job getting a bargain on yours!
ReplyDeleteHi Kimmie!
ReplyDeleteI lurve the outfit! And I totally do that with my brown leather items too- they never match right. And somehow my camera settings make it even more obvious, but you look perfect!
Cath and I just invested in the Melissa Button Frye boots. They are just so classic, I don't see how you can go wrong (my expensive is over $20 too ;)).
Hope you have a great weekend coming up! Thanks for thinking of us when you saw that AsianCajun restaurant. You have to try it and let us know what you think!
Love the teal with the brown. Oh sooo love the boots.
