Happy birthday, husband!

Dress: Ross
Boots: Indigo by Clarks
Scarf: Gift (from Germany I think)

Happy birthday, husband! I feel kind of bad because I didn't get him anything this year. I guess I'm not a very good gift-giver because I bought him a really funny shirt for Christmas, and he didn't think it was funny at all. So, I'm going to have to go return it because $20 for a funny shirt that he's just going to wear to sleep isn't worth it. (It had glow-in-the-dark eagles on it. I thought it was pretty awesome) So, for his birthday, he can just pick out his own present and I'll just pay for it. Or he can pay for it himself, since all the monies are shared anyway.

Well, I got these boots for husband's birthday. Yep, that's right. I got a present because it was my husband's birthday. My sister and I went shopping the day after Christmas, and stopped by the Clarks store to see if there were any comfortable walking shoes, since she has to walk 20 minutes everyday to and from the parking lot to her work. I always associate Clarks with mom shoes, but they ARE pretty comfy, and we found a few cute styles! We both ended up with a pair of boots and a pair of heels (we both got this pair but in a burgundy color, so now I have one thing crossed off of my clothing-needs list!).

BUT, the problem was that my clothing budget was down to $3.48 for the rest of the year, and the boots and the shoes cost more than that. Since I got my sister a lame present (She wanted me to get her Shape-ups, but she changed her mind last minute, thank goodness, so I just got her some random little things), I ended up buying her boots and shoes for her as her Christmas present, and then she bought me my two pairs as a birthday present for my husband. It's pretty much cheating the system, but I couldn't live without these boots (which were an additional 25% off if I bought two pairs of shoes, so I just HAD to get two pairs, right?) YAY.

  1. Ha Kimmie - you are too cute. Love you buying boots for your husband's birthday. That's exactly how it should work! Happy birthday to Mr. Kimmie, by the way!

  2. Both those shoes are really cute! I can totally see the logic in buying them.

And is it just me or are men really hard to buy for? I always come up with what I think are awesome ideas only to find out they're not that awesome at all, and it'd just be easier for them to pick something else out for themselves like you said.

  4. Cute cute cute outfit and boots! I also associate Clarks with matronly shoes, but I think they've had some really cute stuff recently. Especially the Indigo brand - I was pleasantly surprised when I found my oxfords. Can't wait to see you style the pumps! They're so pretty!

And happy birthday to your husband! :)

  12. @Elle - YES!! Lace up boots are the best. I was obsessed with the ones you wanted, and tried on a few flat pairs at Nordstrom but they just looked so weird on me. I even bought a pair of combat boots but they just looked really funny with my big calves that I had to return them. I really like mine and I'm surprised how well they fit. LOVE.
