WWYD?

OMG, I'm totally continuing my stupidness/forgetfulness streak. I left my phone in my car at the park and ride today. I didn't realize until I was already almost at work, and to turn around and go back would make me more than 2 hours late to work, since there's not that many buses that go back and forth after rush hour (I get to work at 10am.. my co-workers and I are all pretty lazy in terms of start time).

Plus, without my phone, I wouldn't be able to email or call my manager to let him know that I'd be in 2 hours late. It wouldn't be such a big deal to be that late (I'd just make it up later), but it's just that to be that late WITHOUT letting them know is kind of bad.

But now I'm just sitting here fretting... is someone going to break into my car?! AH! I don't know, since my car is against a wall, with a car on either side, and no one is going to be walking by my car unless except for the two neighbors. I'll just pray that they're good people and leave my phone alone. But it's just that i can't stop worrying, because I'm kind of attached to my phone, and I don't think I could function without it. :(

At least today we have some company meeting and a beer pong tournament later, so hopefully I can just slip out early... since I'm a party pooper and think beer pong is gross.

What would you do?

  1. Oh no! Yes, I would just leave early from work. Hopefully no one looks too hard into your car and swipes it. I tend to think people are generally good that way. At least I hope so!

  2. I would've gone back for my phone, but that's just the huge paranoid person that I am. I hate leaving stuff in the car, especially when it's visible. Either way, I'm sure your co-workers appreciated that you made it in by 10am. I hope your phone is still there when you get back.

Seattle residents are SO NICE. I honestly doubt anyone would take it. :)

  3. Maybe people are feeling the Christmas spirit and won't bother your phone? Oh, I hope. :(

  4. I would have done what you did, just left it but fretted the rest of the day. I wouldn't worry about anyone breaking into my van to take it because who breaks into vans? I'm pretty sure I parked next to a Beamer today anyway. Was that you?

I start work at 10am, too! But, that's because I take my boys to school so I don't have to pay for before-school care. If I'm a minute late I get a ding so turning around wouldn't have been an option.

    All better now?

    And no, Jen, I don't drive a beamer. I WISH!! :(
