A couple months ago, Kendi (OMG, have you guys noticed I mention Kendi in every single one of my posts?! Slight obsession? Maybeeeee....) had a giveaway for a cops and robbers necklace from anirtak, which I thought was super cute, but the real gem had to be the bunny necklaces I found over at her Etsy shop. So freakin' adorable. I wanted one SO bad, but just never got around to actually buying one.Fast forward a few months, when I was combing through Kendi's (there we go again) insane 30 for 30 Challenge Google reader feed, and found Katrina's blog, The Demure Muse, and started following her... because she's awesome and wears cute clothes. BUT THEN! I found out that Katrina was the one behind the anirtak Etsy store (anirtak: katrina backwards. took me awhile to figure that one out.) Talk about an even better reason to buy a bunny necklace! So, when my budget refreshed for 2011, the very first thing I bought was my very own bunny necklace. Isn't it just awesome? And awesome x1000 because it's made by a friend. :)
Anyway, on my list of things-I-only-wanted-because-
Well, I'm going to be participating in Kendi's (ha! and you thought I was done talking about her!) next 30 for 30 Challenge. It feels like the last one JUST ended, but I can't buy clothes for the month of February anyway, so why not? I think the best part of the last challenge was the community that it created. I met so many bloggers through it, and I wasn't even participating! So needless to say, I'm kind of excited! :) Let me know if you're doing it too!!! I'm already setting aside a pile of clothes for the challenge. Whee!
P.S. My husband knows of my obsession with Kendi, and always jokes that I should rename my blog "Kimmie Everyday." Hah! But really, who doesn't love Kendi?

That Bunny necklace is soo adorable! You're making me want one now too. It's going onto the want list thanks to you. (Don't take it as a bad thing, a good thing..you are in inspiration!) haha!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you do with the 30 for 30.
Just Better Together is having a giveaway!
When I think of 30-for-30 I think I'll join in but then my mind rebels. All of a sudden it's all, "I do what I want!". Weird.
ReplyDeleteCute necklace. I'm glad I'm not the only one in the Seattle area without that ubiquitous North Face jacket. And sometimes things can be "ironed" by hanging them in the bathroom while you take a shower. Some might call it lazy, I call it multi-tasking. :)
that bunny necklace is too cute and how perfect as the year of the rabbit is coming up! i've been wanting a plaid shirt too after seeing it on so many bloggers but haven't found the right one yet. this one looks great on you and i love the oxfords!
ReplyDeletegood luck with the 30 for 30 challenge! i'm sitting this one out, but wish you the best of luck!
cute and little
come join the Color Brigade!
Love the bunny necklace (Katrina is one talented lady)! And I have been hunting for a plaid shirt too. I never wanted one, but after seeing how great all the bloggers look in them, I MUST have one.
ReplyDeleteAnd good luck with the 30x30. This shopping obsessed/addicted to my closet girl can't hang. But I know you can!
You are too cute Kimmie. How you manage to look so comfortable and chic... teach me! I was obsessed with Kendi too because I love her writing. I love your writing too! Yup yup.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I am not sure if I am doing the 30 for 30. It was sure fun looking at all the blogs, but it was SO freaking hard. I'll think it over some more, but honestly, I love wearing all my clothes!
Such a super duper adorable bunny necklace!
Yaaaaaaaay! So happy to hear your doing the 30 for 30!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I all-around just love this outfit, everything about it. It makes me want to run right over to Target and scoop up that shirt and shoes, and wear them myself. :D
Adorable bunny necklace! I found your blog through Jill of Spoils of wear - love your style (and your style inspirations!).
ReplyDeleteI have those same oxfords from Target! I love how you paired them here with a simple skirt. I will have to try it!
ReplyDeleteah! I love that necklace! Is yours the baby lone hopper or the regular one? I want one!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love this outfit...I've been going back and forth on if I "need" a pair of oxfords....they're so cute!
YAY! I'm so glad you're doing it :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, you look adorable. I officially need a pair of oxfords.
Just found your blog today through Spoils of Wear! Love it...definitely bookmarking this one :)
ReplyDeleteI am loving this outfit and I too have oxford-envy because of all the amazing oxfords I've seen on other people's blogs. I also have target-envy being a canadian and instead having to rely on less-stylish alternatives, which I no longer even try going to.
ReplyDeleteYou have also convinced me up buy a brown belt- things are going to get interesting!
I love everything about this outfit! Way to make flannel look so amazing and classy :-)

@Jenn/Suburb Experiment- I know! It seems like everyone and their moms have those black North Face fleeces (Even my mom has one, but that's only because I bought it for her) and I wanted one for the longest time. Now it just reminds me of college, and I'm glad I didn't get one!
ReplyDelete@Three Times Friday- are you doing the 30 for 30 again?? :)
@eek, @Leah - Aw, thanks for stopping by! Isn't Jill just the best?
@Ashley- I think mine is the lone hopper. :) And I totally went back and forth between wanting oxfords and thinking they were unflattering. I just went ahead and bought Target ones because they're cheap ($20) and if I ended up hating them, that would be fine too. But I really REALLY like them! They're a great alternative to flats :)
@sorren- I hear they're opening up Targets in Canada!! I hope they put one near you! :)
Hi Kimmie! So glad you commented on my blog! I get so behind on blog reading so whenever someone comments it's a reminder to stop by their blog and yours is so cute!
ReplyDeleteI also am a huge fan of Kendi and i'm so excited she agreed to be apart of a health and fitness feature i'm doing next week so stay tuned!
And good luck on the next 30 for 30. I'm not sure I could do another one (pictures every day was intense!)

Hehe, your husband is too cute. "iamfrumpy-ish" and now "Kimmie Everyday" :P
ReplyDeleteYou have a Kendi obsession, I have a blues/grays/whites obsession. So needless to say, I'm loving your look today! The flannel looks so warm. I only recently bought a gingham shirt, but now I may have to add a flannel to my list :)
PS - I decided to do the 30 for 30. You swayed me!
Kimmie, I'm so glad you like the necklace!! :D
ReplyDelete& I'm super excited to see you take on the 30 for 30 challenge. This is going to be a fun winter, I'm sure.
I've started moving the stuff I want to use for the 30 to the back of the closet so I don't "waste" any outfits.
ReplyDeletethe plaid shirt and oxford shoes combination here is fantastic!
