Pretty Little Kimberlys... get it? This is my take on the Pretty Little Liars style challenge created by Kimberly and Kimberly. And because I'm a Kimberly too, and we're not liars (I hope), I came up with this clever little title (Go me! I hate coming up with post titles.)
We were supposed to dress like one of the Pretty Little Liars characters today, and I picked Spencer. I'm going to admit that I've never seen the show, mostly because we don't have cable and the network never sent our company the screeners (Stupid ABC Family.. they switched everything to online screeners instead of actual DVDs) so I have no way of watching it. When the series comes out on DVD I'll be sure to watch it though.
I love how each character has a very distinct style (Aria: boho chic, Hannah: feminine and frilly, Emily: sporty, Spencer: preppy), kind of like the Spice Girls, haha! I chose to copy Spencer's classic-with-a-touch-of-masculinity style and recreate this outfit of hers:
Although my outfit looks pretty normal, I'll have to admit this is the first time wearing a blazer to work, first time wearing this specific blazer, first time wearing jeans with oxfords, first time rolling the hems on the jeans, and first time wearing this ruffle button up (that I was going to return, but I missed the 21-day window). Needless to say, this is a little out of my comfort zone, but I'm kind of liking it. If only it didn't make my ankles and forearms freeze. Brr...

Cute! You modeled her look perfectly!

Kimmie! I'm jealous of your mad skills! You totally channelled Spencer! And you look amazing in this outfit! Love your clever title!!!
ReplyDeleteYou look ADORABLE! I'm so glad you went out of your comfort zone because I'm loving this look on you. Roll with it! xo
ReplyDeleteIt looks super cute! I love the blouse with the blazer!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your inspiration. You look great!
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question re: Ann Taylor pumps...they are pretty comfy, but I am so used to wearing flats my feet get tired after a couple of hours. Definitely need some more wear-in time!
SUPER JEALOUS. I am LOVING those oxfords and your cuffed jeans!
ReplyDeleteToo cute! I've never watched the show either, so I was too afraid to participate in the challenge, but you did a FANTASTIC job, and you look great, to boot :)
ReplyDeleteYou got her style spot-on. I know this because of the picture you posted of her, which I'm glad you did!
ReplyDeleteI think it's funny you have closet envy on me because I was TOTALLY thinking the same thing when I saw your 30. I love the variety of colours you have in your mix, it made me want to go shopping!
I watched this show in the beginning but just didn't find it interesting enough to keep watching. I did like all the girls' wardrobes though. Great take on Spencer's style and such a clever post title!
ReplyDeleteI am officially old. I haven't heard of this show. Thanks for the still frame. Great take on Spencer!

ReplyDeleteI like your take on it better. The oxfords look great with the cuffed jeans, very easy.
I've heard of the show and they are very cute in the picture but I'm probably on the wrong side of 30 to even watch it! :)
You did a fantastic job channeling Spencer! You look so comfortable wearing this that I had no idea there were so many 'firsts' for you in here. You're a natural, Kimmie. :)
ReplyDeleteYou rock that look! The second I saw the title and the first photo I knew you were dressing like Spenser!
