Take It!

Dress: Target
Cardigan: Forever 21
Belt: Charlotte Russe
Boots: Frye

Thanks to all you nice people who told me that my last outfit looked fine. I was thinking about it some more, and I think the reason why I felt so uncomfortable was because of the skirt... Since it was a tweed skirt with no stretch or slit opening, every time I'd walk, the skirt had nowhere to go but up. I've been totally fine with shorter skirts/dresses than that, as long as they're stretchy or flowy (and with leggings or tights, of course). But that doesn't mean I'm not getting old.

So my husband texted me yesterday, asking me if I saw that our YMCA is now offering valet service during peak hours. SERIOUSLY? If you're going to the gym, what's so hard about driving to the furthest parking spot and then doing something called walking? Our Y gets pretty packed at certain times, and it's hard to find parking, but really? VALET? Well, actually, now that I think about it, this would be nice when I have my son, or when I'm barely making it to one of my classes, or when it's raining. Okay, I take that back. I love it. Especially when it's free and they told us that gratuity is not expected or encouraged. I'm already paying $$$ a month to go to work out once a week, so maybe I just need to get my money's worth.

My post title has absolutely nothing to do with my post. I'm just watching season 5 of Dexter right now. That's all.

  1. This outfit is so freaking pretty! I love all of the different shades of blue in it.

And my gym has valet parking too (except it's not free, unfortunately). I thought it was weird for the longest time, but then I had to use it one night when I was in a hurry and it's now one of my favorite things ever.

  3. I love all the layers here! So pretty! That's so funny about your gym having a valet...the student health center on my campus had one which was really weird. It was probably the only place on campus with convenient parking...and I always felt bad for the poor valets who had to get into a sick person's car!

BTW, I really like your boots!

  5. i love all the layers! i usually get scared trying to pair a shorter cardigan with a dress, but i think i'm going to attempt this again after seeing how great your outfit turned out!

i agree with your whole walking thing in a parking lot. it always boggles my mind when people are idling in an aisle waiting for a close parking spot when there are TONS of available spots a few feet away.

  6. omg. valet at the gym = lazy HAHAHA! but i understand your reasoning. Hubs and I walk to and from the gym so we don't ever have to worry about parking. It sucks walking to the gym when it's raining but after working out for 2 hours, it actually feels really good to walk home in the rain.

  7. I like the blues of your outfit together. Are your tights gray? On my computer they're reading as the most perfect shade of gray. Love them.

I love the way you pair colors together, it somehow always comes out fresh but completely natural. This outfit is no exception!

  12. Ha! I always had the same thoughts when I belonged to a gym. And I still think that now when I'm at any sort of store when people are holding up traffic, waiting for me to leave my spot when there are about 20 empty spots 20 feet away.

Really? The 30 extra steps are going to bother you that much?

That's when I realize I'm getting old and grumpy :)

  13. Valet at the gym? That's CRAZY.

Am I the only one who hasn't seen Dexter?

  14. I really love that dress, those ruffles just make the outfit. And I can't imagine a valet at a gym, although I guess I can see how it'd be convenient. It would just probably make me more lazy though.
