I hate it when I have a location picked out, and then there's some random dude IN MY SPOT. This happened yesterday a bunch of times, and today as well. I was taking some test shots around the EMP yesterday, you know, like positioning my camera on my little gorillapod, taking a few test self-timer shots to see if I liked the angle and lighting before taking off my jacket and doing it for realz.. and then this random guy just walks up. I thought he was going to say something like "oh, don't you just love this angle of the building?" or "Would you like me to take a photo for you?" - you know, something that a normal person would say to someone who is positioning a camera like obviously they are about to take photos of themselves. But no, he stops like 3 feet away from me, and starts taking photos of my background I was just about to use. Seriously, dude? Of all the photographable sections of the building you just had to pick the one that was currently occupied?
And it's not like I could move to somewhere else because it's a little tricky to find somewhere with a railing/ledge at the right height, and that place was kind of perfect. I was going to wait until he left, but I think he was purposely just taking his own sweet time, so I just gathered up my camera and left.
Anyway, today, I went to a little beach spot that I found a few weeks ago, and there's this dude just sitting on one of the logs looking out to the water.. so I had to find an alternate location.
So I walked around and I found this other previously-undiscovered spot. YAY!
But then there's like this office building that kind of overlooks this place and I'm pretty sure anyone looking out the window would see me and think I'm a weirdo. I hate it because they can see me but I can't see them.
Okay, that's enough of James Van Der Beek.
But these are kind of hilarious and awesome. I apologize if you find it disturbing. :)

um, those JVDB GIFs just made my life. Thank you so much for bringing them in to my world!
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit and the James Van Der Beek images! I just talking to someone about how throwing your back against a wall and sliding down in tears should be referred to as "pulling a JVDB"
ReplyDeleteAs for the outfit, I love the whole thing and I'm super excited to see the jeans with the heels! I have become so accustomed to skinny jeans I no longer know what to do with my boot cut, you have shown me the way... thank you
love that khaki-colored jacket with your black top! you looks great!
ReplyDeletebwhahah, loving all the dawson.. errr, james van der beek ;)
ReplyDeletethose jeans are awesome on you.
When I saw the title of the post. . . I was intrigued. As I scrolled down I was impressed. That a lot of van der Beek!!
ReplyDeleteThat cardigan is fantastic. I'm so glad you stopped by my blog so I could find yours! Us Puget Sound area fashionistas have an extra challenge of dressing for winter rain so it's fun to see someone else navigate it (without resorting to the black North Face jacket/Uggs combo)
I'm think all of the Van Der Beek's are hilarious! You look amazing! That cardigan looks so soft!

WHY did JVDB do a giant emotional satire in gif? I'm so confused. But they totally described your experience, perfectly! And your outfit AND photos turned out great!
ReplyDeleteHaha, too funny! Although I'll have a mental image of JVDB for the next few days... not funny.

All the Van Der Beeks cracked me up! And finding locations without other people nearby is so hard, I wish I had pretty woods or something right in my backyard like a lot of bloggers seem to. Anyway, I really like the buttons on that cardigan, very cute!
