Cheater cheater, pumpkin-eater

[30 for 30: Outfit 11]
Dress: Forever 21 (hand-me-down)
Sweater: Forever 21
Belt: Thrifted
Boots: Steve Madden

I've officially cheated on the 30 for 30 challenge, not once, but twice today. Bad Kimmie, I know.

First, we went to Burger King for lunch (super healthy, I know. But we had a buy one get one free Whopper coupon that we couldn't NOT use) and my outfit planned for the day is one you see above, and I really didn't feel like wearing a dress to Burger King and Target. So, I wore a pair of old jeans, sneakers and a hoodie, all that weren't in the 30 for 30 (don't worry, I did pick a 30 for 30 shirt!) because I knew I was going to change later.

Second, we stopped by Target to pick up some washable markers because I'm sick of my little guy being obsessed with highlighters and non-washable markers, and getting marks all over his face and clothes that don't wash off. As I was chasing him around the store (he refuses to sit in the cart), he just happened to run by the Women's shoe section, and I just happened to see that the grey pair of my quilted flats was on clearance for $10. Have I ever mentioned how much I love these and how hard it is to find a pair of flats that my feet don't hate? There was only one pair left in my size, so I couldn't NOT get them. Plus, I used my gift card, so it's not like I spent any real money, AMIRITE?

In the evening, I went to the mall with my sister to grab some happy hour and do a little window-shopping, and I was really proud of myself for not buying anything (except for an Auntie Anne's pretzel. YUM). I found a really cute shirt at J. Crew for a pretty good price, but I put it back... and I'm crossing my fingers it'll still be there at the end of the month.

  4. I definitely think that sometimes things need to get bought. For example, the last 30for30 was before Christmas and there were HUGE sales everywhere - I'm talking 40 - 50% off new items. Lets just say I bought a couple dresses, a shirt, some shoes and some tights. BUT I put them away and did NOT wear them, which I think made me good and not a cheater. I think if it's something that is a good deal that you won't be able to get at a later date for the same deal, but you know you'll obsess over - it needs to get got. haha oh my, I do A LOT of justifying.

Also, I dress like a hobo sometimes on weekends but I think hobo-wear is like gym-wear and not included.

  6. I think you can dress however you like to eat at Burger King! Especially such a nice outfit. Burger King deserves at least that much Kimmie.

Quilted flats for $10 with gift card? YOUARRITE!

Have you ever tried Wetzel's Pretzels?! Omg those things are to die for! Almond crunch... mmmm. Auntie Anne's was a little too salty for me, but I remember the texture was pretty good. Anyway, maybe you should have hidden that shirt somewhere no one can find so you can come back at the end of the month. Kekeke

  7. Oh, if you didn't spend any money, it's totally not shopping. The shoes were a gift...and you can't say no to a gift, of course :)

  8. Gift cards means it totally was not breaking the rules! You're just using a present someone gave you. :)

  12. How can you possibly pass $10 flats. Just a tiny cheat and a gift card at that, so you are golden.
