[30 for 30: Outfit 21]
Dress: Forever 21
Grey T: Old Navy
Belt: Target
Boots: Frye
Necklace: Anirtak
I had the intent of wearing my new teal tights from Old Navy today. They're thick and stretchy and had a tag in the back (hey, did I ever link to my interview over at We Love Colors? I don't think so.) But since it's been super cold and snowy here, I decided to layer my teal tights over my black fleece-lined tights this morning for some extra warmth. Good thing, because as I drove to work, I looked down and realized there was a small hole ripped in the knee of the teal tights. On my first day of wearing them! I was pretty bummed, so I took them off and just wore the black tights on their own. I'm sorry that my attempt at wearing more color isn't going too well.
It started to snow as I took these pictures, and I'm not very good at hiding the "I'm freezing" expression on my face. I was also paranoid about stepping backwards and falling off the edge of the ledge.. which kind of rhymes. Actually, it was more "big giant steps" than a ledge, but the fall downwards still wouldn't have been very pleasant.
I'm jealous of you who get to go bare-legged and short-sleeved in your parts of the country/world. We're supposed to get up to 6 inches of snow tomorrow... and if you know Seattle, we don't do too well when it snows. I hope Steve Pool is wrong.

i'm jealous of those people too :(
ReplyDeleteJust Better Together
where did you get your fleece lined tights? Im on the hunt for them... especially now that snowpocalypse is hitting us again.
ReplyDeleteThat belt is perfect. I'd even go so far as to say it makes the outfit.
ReplyDeleteAnd if it makes you feel any better, I'd say it's unseasonably cold out here in California right now. I don't like it at all!
Brooke- I got the tights at target, actually they're labeled "brush lined tights"- they're warm and cozy but I'm not that big of a fan of the pilliness and the seams on the butt, makes tight-skirt-wearing difficult :) other than that, theyre great!
ReplyDeleteWe are supposed to get some of that snow, too, and I can't wait! Ok, so I have a dress kinda sorta like this (not really) and I tried wearing a shirt under it and it looked like a jumper that a 10 year old would wear. How did you make it polished and professional. Any tips? I'd love to copy this within my 30 somehow.

Um. I am SO glad I don't have to work tomorrow. I'm not going ANYWHERE in fact.
ReplyDeleteNow watch, after all this lead-up we'll get a little dusting and nothing else. :) I wouldn't be upset. It is really cold though.

You are very brave to be in tights when it's snowing! I can't seem to get out of my jeans this winter :)

Don't feel bad, I'm jealous of those with sunshine and warm temps too. I think it is supposed to be warmer here today thank goodness!
ReplyDeleteAw, I'm sorry the teal tights had a hole in them! That stinks! All the more reason to go with We Love Colors, right?
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable in your layers and I love the mixed neutrals! So chic!

Ok it does kind of look like a cold burst of wind flew by in those last two photos, but I wouldn't have noticed it if you hadn't said anything :)
ReplyDeleteAnd hey, I think black/brown/grey is a gorgeous "color" combo!
Simple but chic. Love it.
ReplyDeleteSigh - jealous too! I need to pick up fleece lined tights but I don't know where to get them from - might be too late for this year but it would be perfect to winterize all my dresses and skirts!
ReplyDeleteI'm saying it's the thought that counts on the teal tights :) I sometimes have trouble thinking of good outfit/colored tight combos - teal seems like a great idea here. But the outfit is definitely still adorable with black!
ReplyDeleteI love the black and brown combo. I never thought that these 2 colors could be worn together but this look is perfect!
ReplyDeletei like that dress on you!:)
ReplyDeleteYour dress is super cute! We finally got our snow. I think I need some fleece lined tights, as soon as I'm allowed to shop again.
