I had a scary dream last night. Don't worry, it's not that kind of scary. I guess I was thinking a lot yesterday about what my co-workers would say to me if they knew I had a blog where I liked to post photos of myself.
In my dream, my manager pulled me aside, and told me that he saw a link to my blog via twitter, and read all my blog posts. He told me that it was a problem to have me blogging, because it distracted me from work. There is a section in our employee agreement (true, not just dream stuff) about blogging, and how you shouldn't talk crap about the company or co-workers on your blog, and just stuff like that, and he said that my blog violates the company policy (wakey-time interjection: It doesn't really... I hope).
I was embarrassed, and he told me that he'd talk to the board members about my blogging behavior and see what they said. So, at the board meeting, they all sat down and read my blog on the big gigantic presentation screen, and analyzed my content and pictures. After the meeting, my manager told me that the board decided that I needed to I shut down my blog, or else I would be fired.
Isn't that horrible?!! I was upset when I woke up this morning, being like, "sad, I don't have a blog anymore." Lucky for you, it was just a dream.
And I also dreamed/dreamt(?) that I happened to sit next to Jen on the bus, and was like, "HEY! I KNOW YOU!" and then I totally missed my bus stop.
The end.

wow, that is a bad dream!! we have a very similar company policy about blogs and although i've never dreamed about my blog being shown to the company board, i have been somewhat paranoid about co-workers finding out about the blog. but since i don't blog about anything work related, i think i'm in the clear. but still. it'd be weird...
ReplyDeleteand i love how you belted the sweater and those jeans look great on you!
cute and little
What an informative dream!
ReplyDeleteJust Better Together
lol, how funny (but scary!). None of my real life friends know about the blog - I actually think my Mom now reads it but hasn't said anything. Awk-ward!
ReplyDeleteScary dream! My husband mentioned his old company on a blog once (while he was still working for them) and got mildly reprimanded. Companies gotsta protect their images, I guess. But I find myself being nervous that random friends and family members will start reading and I'll say something that will bother them ... lots to worry about. We bloggers are gutsy folks! =)
ReplyDeletei have really boring, realistic dreams. like about going grocery shopping and moving my car to the other side of the street and filling it with gas. your outfit is cute and i'm glad your dream isn't real life :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that is a bad dream. I sometimes think about the whole blog vs. work thing, I know better than to outwardly dis my career but sometimes I make little silly comments, like "yay... no work for 2 days!" and when I go back and read my posts later, I think... what if they considered that me trashing my job... yikes!
ReplyDeleteBTW, your sweater is awesome, and I love those boots, really cute outfit!

Gah that's a scary dream! I do try to not talk at all about work on twitter or blog about it but man when you're there for 8 hours a day it's a little difficult isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny that you ended up sitting next to Jen - had you ever met before?
I love your outfit - totally something I would wear!
Hi Kimmie! I think blue is your color. You almost look like an angel. Wait . . . you are an angel! I heart you girrrrl.
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks sooo pretty today, Kimmie.
ReplyDeleteDon't they say you dream about what's on your mind the most? I think it's time to leave work at work, but think about your blog as much as you want :)
very cute blog!

i love your outfit.. you look so warm and cozy :) and i love that you're wearing such a bright cobalt blue in the winter!! it really warms your look up!
ReplyDeleteI had a dream the other night that a kid came up to me at a very crowded event and told me that his mom was smoking in the corner and that I had to shut the event down because she was breaking a big rule. SO WEIRD. I called her out, too. She was mad.
ReplyDeleteI agreed with Cee, your hair looks so pretty today. What a scary dream! It would be sad if I am not able to blog again. Thank goodness it was just a dream. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHA! That IS a nightmare! Also, your hair looks pretty enough to pet. For reals. Shiny! I'm glad it was just a dream; the internet sure would miss your face. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't figure out where you are in this picture and it's driving me crazy. You'll have to put your location in your caption just for me from now on.
ReplyDeleteThat is a terrible dream! As far as I know, my company has no policy on blogging, but I'm fairly certain I'd die of embarrassment if any coworkers actually found my blog. Ack. I can't even think of such a thing!
ReplyDeleteLove the sideswept bangs you're wearing here. So pretty on you, Kimmie!
I would have never thought of belting that type of sweater but it works. :) You look very nice.
ReplyDeleteMy WORST nightmare. I can't imagine what I would do if someone found my blog from work. Or even if a friend of family found it. I would be mortified! I'm glad it was just a dream for you.
ReplyDeleteThat sweater is a dream. Beautiful.
The Auspicious Life
oh my gosh, that is a real nightmare of mine, too! I mean, I write nothing but good stuff about my work, but I work in HR, and our policy is that you can't say anything, mean or not, about our organization (since it's a tax supported non-profit we don't want anyone to ruffle any feathers). I'm SO worried someone will find out - yesterday my boss drove right by me when I was taking my pictures, and I think I ducked! haha!
ReplyDeleteYour dream was hilarious (awful, but hilarious) I was laughing so hard at the part where they are reading it on a big screen that Jack made me tell him all about it.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with the sweater. It just seems like the type of sweater that would make your dreams come true!
Ugh! That's one of my most terrifying nightmares - that work will find out about my blog and I'll be punished. Shudder. I'm glad it was just a dream, because I love checking in to see what you're up to! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a terrible dream! But you've never said anything bad about who you work with or your company so you should be just fine even if anyone stumbles across it. (they will probably just become avid followers :)
ReplyDeleteAs always you look adorable!
Rochelle
what a nightmare! your blog is so cute and friendly i can't imagine it ever offending anyone!
ReplyDeleteI really like this outfit! It is somehow casual yet elegant! You Rock!

what a stressful dream! I hate dreams like that. The ones that could be real so they're that much more stressful. My company has a blogging policy too, but as long as I'm not blogging about my company or anything that directly relates to my job, I'm clear!
