I swung by Kerry Park during my lunch break today, which is a very little park on Queen Anne that overlooks the downtown Seattle skyline... and quite the popular spot for couples to take pictures. When I got there, there was a couple taking self-timer shots on their tripod, so I had to wait about 5 or 10 minutes for my turn. I guess I could have gone like 20 feet to the left of them, but that would have just been AWKWARD. I hate when people catch me taking self-portraits. So, I just snapped a few pictures along the stairs where they couldn't see me.
After they left, I hurried and ran over to take my photos. As I finished my first set of self-timer shots (I usually take a set of 6 photos, check them, then take another two or three sets... most of them turn out pretty bad which explains why I only have a few shots per post despite taking like 40 pictures), and I was checking the quality of the photos, another couple walked right up and started looking at the view and taking pictures at the exact same spot that I was just occupying. So much for that. Hmph!
My shirt has a really cute lace panel along the top shoulders and back, and If I were a good fashion blogger, I'd take some detail shots, but do you know how difficult it is to take pictures of your shoulder blades? Impossible, I tell ya.
Does it look like I have a gap between my two front teeth? Because from the first photo it really does look like it. SO SAD.

Cute outfit! I love that skirt, and those boots are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteNO, it does NOT look like you have a gap! You are beautiful! I love the bright pop of red in the skirt and that you paired it with brown boots. SO awesome!
ReplyDeletethat skirt is so cute! the buttons are such a great detail and it looks fantastic with gray tights!
ReplyDeletelol, your commentary is seriously always so funny. i love the spot where you chose to take pictures -- it's so picturesque! of course i love the red skirt on you and it looks great paired with the tights and boots.
ReplyDeletecute and little
come check out the color brigade!
What gap? Very, very cute photo! It's great that you will go out and take pictures of yourself. I am too chicken to leave my house ;) Now though, when I'm in the city and see ladies with cameras (and they don't look like tourist) I always tell my husband "she has a blog". He just looks at me funny :P
ReplyDeleteThe background in these photos is breathtaking! You're making me move Seattle to the top of my 'places to visit' list. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd you are seriously hilarious, Kimmie, and you get bonus points for being brave enough to perform self-photography in public (I feel weird doing it alone in my apartment)!
It does not look like you have a gap, at all, you goof :)
ReplyDeleteYou look great!
i will always love that skirt. eye wantz 2 steel it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous background for photos. Black and red is a great combination. I am always afraid of taking pictures in public places. You did great!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha I laughed at the "hard to take pictures of your shoulder blades" part. I seriously love that skirt! I've been coveting it since the first time I saw it on your blog.
ReplyDeleteAnd I scrolled back up to find the gap, but I couldn't see it. =]
What a gorgeous spot! I love this outfit, it's so cute. Sorry it was awkward to get your shots - this is why I stay in my backyard. Too scared of the awkward moments!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous view! (of Seattle I presume). My public place is a bathroom. You are brave for going out in the wild :) Love the gold buttons of the skirt with the brown boots!
ReplyDeletei see why everyone wants that spot! so gorgeous! i love everything about these photos - not only is the Seattle skyline amazing, but so is your outfit! i love all the neutrals going on + the red skirt!
ReplyDeleteSo my last few photoshoots have been rudely interrupted by ppl walking by! ARgh. I get so embarrassed that I have to quickly run into the house. I so wish I had a fence... You're brave for venturing outside your home!
ReplyDeleteafter you pointed out that "gap" I stared at it and it just got bigger and bigger! I didn't even notice it until you mentioned it.
ReplyDeleteJust Better Together
That background is so pretty! And I love everytime you wear that red skirt. I hate when I get caught taking pictures of myself too, it's so awkward because I don't want to explain what I'm doing.
ReplyDeleteShopping and Spreadsheets
Even if there was a gap (which I don't see) you're way pretty!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to stop dressing like a slob on weekends so I can get outfit pics in all the pretty places around here. We're lucky to live in such a scenic area, aren't we?
Jenn
I don't see the gap at all! And I am so impressed that you have the nerve to talk outfit photos in public...I get nervous just taking them in front of my house!
ReplyDeleteLovely pics and outfit today!
Kimmie you find the coolest places to take your outfit photos, even if you have to be sneaky about getting them you still manage wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteI don't see a gap at all and that outfit is great :)
Rochelle
i love the look of brown boots with grey tights! i need to try that out next time! :)
ReplyDeleteOMG KERRY PARK!! I've only been there once and forgot my camera at home. :(
ReplyDeleteI love your red skirt from F21. I still remember your first post about debating between the red or the blue and I'm so glad you chose the red!
Love that skirt!!!
ReplyDeleteyour photos turned out fantastic! and i don't see a gap. not at all. gaps are cute, though? right?
ReplyDeleteHaha, I couldn't see a gap at all! Maybe your computer has a higher resolution photo? I think we just all see a beautiful smile.
ReplyDeleteLove the red skirt once again. I'm pretty sure this is my favorite item of yours, and the mustard cardi. Oh! Outfit request! Can you wear them TOGETHER?!
And 40 pictures?! How long does that take you?? I have to sneak out after like 15 cuz I'm too scared of being caught (><) Oh the life of a fashion blogger.
I saw this skirt at F21 and now I'm regretting not buying it since it looks so cute on you. I have a similar one in black (from H&M) so I told myself a red one would be overkill but Imight have been wrong!
ReplyDeleteLidi@Eclectic Flair
I love the buttons on this skirt and that you wore it with the grey tights.
ReplyDeleteYou are a brave lady to tripod yourself. (That's tripod as a verb.) I would be too scared!
The Auspicious Life
You're such a cutie ... congrats on your We Love Colors feature.
ReplyDeleteNice self-photography, lady! I love the scenery behind you. (If there's an opportunity to feature a national landmark, take it!) Totally worth the effort, even it was a little awkward.
What a great background! It's always a challenge taking your own photos, but you do it so well that it looks like there's someone behind the camera, it looks so natural! =)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute outfit and great picture location. I just found my way over here from Classic Noise and I think your blog is so cute!
