Almost caught

Ruffle button-down: Forever 21
Jeggings: Target
Boots: Steve Madden
Belt: Thrifted

You know what would freak me out more than random strangers catching me take my photos? People I know catching me take my photos.

I was wandering around Seattle Center yesterday, taking a few test shots here and there and walking around to scout out a new location when I look up and see two guys walking towards me. From a distance, one of them looks kind of like my co-worker.. and wait, the other one does too. They confirm my suspicion as they yell out "Hey Kimmie!!!" and I managed a weak wave back.

If they had been 20 seconds earlier, they would have seen me propping up my camera on a ledge and and posing while the self-timer went off. Thank goodness I had already decided I didn't like the background, and had my camera safely stuffed inside my bag. I thought Seattle Center would be a co-worker-free zone, but apparently not!

  2. I appreciate how this outfit seems effortlessly put together, like you didn't put any thought into and just naturally, intuitively always look flawless! The outfits here are adorable! Love the dark blue concept. The boots perfectly balance out the entire outfit!

  5. yikes, close call! Not even my housemate knows about my blog, I'm trying to take stealth to the next level haha. I think I'm going to venture to the great outdoors though once summer weather sets in. Hopefully I won't have any awkward run-ins!

  7. ah! One time I was taking pictures in the park I work in and my boss drove by - I dove behind a tree like an idiot, but if he noticed, he never said anything!

  8. Even if you'd been caught, your outfit is so lovely they would not have noticed the camera! Love the ruffles!

  9. You pull off denim on denim so well! Nice call with the belt to break it up a little. And that is too funny about almost being caught. I would definitely feel a little self conscious if people I knew saw me!

  11. Haha I'm pretty sure my old man next door neighbor sees me out there all the time and thinks I am the most vain person ever. Awkward.

Love what you're wearing! The boots and the shirt are fabulous.

  15. Whew! That was a close call. It happened to me once. While taking pictures in the bathroom, this lady walked in. Thankfully I didn't work with her and I just pretended to fiddle with my camera and didn't bother making eye contact. I knew I was chancing it cuz it's a public bathroom after all, but still, soo awkward!

This is one of my favorite outfits of yours! Loving the blue on blue.

  16. Isn't it strange how we don't care how many strangers stare at us and give us weird looks, but the minute someone we know watches, its super awkward. I feel weird even telling people I know that I have a style blog, so I feel your pain!

I really like the blue and blue look. Cute and casual :)

  18. I hate taking pictures outside for that reason! I never venture too far from my apartment building from fear of people....
I guess I'll have to get over it sometime.

  19. AHH! That is my worst fear. Well, one of my worst fears. Imagine how much embarrassment that would have caused. It could have been as detrimental as an accidental "reply all" email!

  23. Love this look- I don't go for denim on denim often but this really works! I had to LOL at you almost getting busted. Somethimes the simplest things can be the hardest to explain. Glad you had all your gear put away :)

  24. thanks! It's actually just a plain woven blue top, I don't think I'd be able to pull off denim on denim just yet! :)

  25. haha! I've always wondered if you've been caught in the restroom before. I wonder what she thought!

  26. Thanks, Laura! It's actually not a denim shirt, it's just a plain blue shirt, but I think it looks like denim from the lighting. I'm still too scared to do the whole denim on denim look!

  27. I love the blues and browns together! And I'm glad you didn't get caught, I would have been so embarrassed too!

  28. OMGosh that is my worst fear too! I realized that if I had just publicized to the people I know that I blog, it wouldn't be so bad. But I can't bring myself to do that either. lol and you're soo much braver than me..at least you're doing the your pictures out in a public area!

jeggings?! They don't look like them. Ah, I might give in..

And that is the WORST. Having someone see you taking pictures of yourself with the tripod. Imagine if you had to explain! My auncle caught me once. I was doing a "school" project.

btw, for DISQUS, are word verifications suppose to show up?
