Blazer: H&M
Jeans: J Brand Lovestory
Shoes that you can't see: Target
I usually check the weather every morning when I'm getting dressed. Yesterday's forecast said it would be lows in the 50s, and a high of 68. So, I put on a skirt and my new springy wedges, but then as I looked outside, it looked so miserable and cold that I turned around and put on pants instead.
As I drove into town, the clouds parted and the sun came out, and then I totally regretted not wearing that skirt. I guess it didn't really matter though, since I spent the entire day sitting in front of a computer screen, and a skirt or pants made no difference.
Also? The sun happened to be playing peek-a-boo with the clouds while I was taking my pictures, which is why my shirt is in various shades of purple and my shadow appears and disappears. I'd try to color correct the photos but I don't really feel like it (and I don't know how either, so it's not like I could even if I wanted to). I am, however, proud of my skillz in Photoshopping out my crooked shirt. The wrinkles were seriously bugging me.

I love the blazer and may I add that you were having a GREAT hair day! Yesterday was deceptively nice...
ReplyDeleteToo bad we can't combine our weather to average - we hit over 100-degrees in Texas yesterday!
ReplyDeleteI like the nice clean lines today. And those jeans make your legs look miles long!
loving the Hand M blazer :)
ReplyDeleteThere are no words for how much I live his outfit. Gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteI love that first picture of you! You look so cute and cheery!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, do you want to trade weather??? It's 90 and humid here today -_- What I would give to wear a blazer and pants without sweating like a pig. Ok that was gross. Sorry!
ReplyDeletePS - I like the big curls on you!
Holy... You look fantastic! You always look cute, but today you look extremely CHIC! I don't know exactly how to explain it, but this is the best look I've ever seen you in. More, please!
ReplyDeleteThose jeans look so good on you! I like the blazer too.
ReplyDeleteMad Skillz! And I love the flare on those pants!
ReplyDeletethat blazer looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteI just found you through Monkeyface. Love your style! Those pants are amaaaaze. I don't know why, I just know I need to have them =) And now I'm going to read the rest of your blog haha

The flare on those pants are awesome! Don't worry, there are plenty of more days ahead to wear skirts and dresses.
ReplyDeletePlease share with us your photoshop skills. How did you remove the wrinkles so nicely?
I know, I'm actually glad it's still somewhat cooler around here. I hate hot sticky summers! :(
ReplyDeleteHaha, NO! I love our weather... most of the time. :) I would take being cold over being hot any day!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks, Erin!! :) You're too sweet. The blazer is just deceptive, lol.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I tried with the clone tool, but it looked really fake, so I just took another photo where my shirt was smooth, and then cut and paste it over, removing extra shirt that spilled over the blazer, and faded it in from the top, and fixed the hair. Pretty easy! :)
ReplyDeletehi, you have to wear purple every day now. because you look amazing in it. that is all.
ReplyDeleteYour legs look a million miles long in those pants!
ReplyDeleteHa! Nicely done :)
ReplyDeleteAmazing photoshopping skills!! And awesome outfit :) I think you look great in this!

I really like the outfit. I could probably recreate something like this with the pants I just bought. I didn't even know you can Photoshop wrinkles out. That is too cool.
ReplyDeletei am obsessed with your jeans and hidden shoes. is it bad that all i want in this life is shoes that are hidden by my fabulous jeans?
ReplyDeleteyour hair looks fantastic! I hate when that peek-a-boo sun thing happens... it always makes me really frustrated when I'm editing and I wonder if people notice when the shades are slightly different in pictures from the same day.
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! And your photoshop skills rock! :)
ReplyDeleteThe Limited? i've never heard of it! but i want to!
ReplyDeleteim loving this top!

I hate that when you dress for the weather in the morning, and it turns out different. Today I wore my glasses and regretted it because it was sunny all day. GRRR. Anyhoo, you look great!
ReplyDeletehaaha i love that you 'shopped out the imperfections. you're too funny!!
ReplyDeletei can't tell you how much i've missed your blog over the past month. time to play a serious game of catch-up!
I am loving your blog, so glad I found it! I also was checking out some of the other blogs you read, but can't get into Honestly Kristin's...how do you get invited to that?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, thanks for the terrific fashion inspiration!
XOXO
Trish
How did I miss that blazer at H&M? Is it still currently there? You look great!
ReplyDeleteReally? they don't have The Limited where you live? Aren't you from Texas? I know I've seen other Texas bloggers wear stuff from there! :) It's one of my favorite stores.. probably because I used to work there in college.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I know! I was totally prepared for rain yesterday, and it didn't rain (actually, maybe it did. I woudln't know, since I was in the office all day long). Stupid forecasts.
ReplyDeleteARE YOU BACK, Katrina?!!?! :)
ReplyDeleteCant wait to hear about all your travels!
Aw, thanks Trish! Kristen shut down her blog because she was just too swamped with work and life and wasn't able to maintain it.. I'm sad because she was so sweet, but I guess I'm going to have to take down that link :(
ReplyDeleteThanks, Teal! I got it awhile ago, I think last fall?
ReplyDeleteSee you later!! ;)
Haha, not really photoshopping the wrinkles out, it was more of cut-and-paste from another photo! :)
ReplyDeleteI know, it's a feat for me too, because I have big feet, so I have to find super wide flares and super high heels. But it's FUNNNNN.
ReplyDeleteTotally!
ReplyDeletePS. Loved your feature on Monkeyface's blog!! :) You are my self-photography idol ;)
Haha, it's a good thing I have plenty of purple in my closet! :)
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks, Victoria! Yes, these pants are AMAZING. I really really love them, and I got a really good deal on them too, which makes them even better ;)
ReplyDeletei'm with you andrea! i love this blazer too!

The blazer makes you look so polished! Sweet photoshopping skills too, you did a great job with those wrinkles! If only I could do that...I'd never iron again!
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing all the time, darn weather controlling what I wear! I love this easy look on you -- those pants are ahh-mazing!!
ReplyDeleteThose jeans look really awesome on you!
ReplyDeleteit has been extremely hot here..i kinda want the 60s weather. i love the second to the last pix!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw this outfit I seriously OOOooooOOoooed out loud. I love it. It's so fresh and you are having a fantastic hair day. Great job on being you!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these flares! that purple is so good. cute cute!
ReplyDeletexoxo
I really like the flared jeans, especially with the fitted blazer.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'd really like to work on my photoshopping skills, especially since my brother-in-law once took a picture of B sitting a little less like a lady than I'd like, and managed to photoshop her dress to cover her diaper. If I could photoshop out wrinkles, too? Perfect!
so beautiful. x hivenn
ReplyDeleteooh~! this is such a cute "semi-formal" professional look (: (: I LOVE!
