Lace top: Nordstrom Rack
Jeans: Paige Denim
I felt a little like Morticia Addams when I was wearing this black lace top yesterday. I was self-conscious about the illusion of showing skin when I was at work, and left my jacket on for most of the day. Normally, I'd tuck the cami into my jeans, but it just looked weird tucked in, so I left it out... which also ended up looking weird.
The solid neckline of the shirt makes it difficult to layer because I can't wear normal tank tops underneath, so my choices are pretty limited. I did like how I paired the shirt with a blue t-shirt underneath on the last time I wore it, but in my desire to NOT wear the lace shirt in the exact same way twice, I made myself super uncomfortable. That's just stupid, and I learned my lesson. Next time: blue shirt.
In other news, I went to Nordstrom Rack over the weekend and blew my budget on these two items:
Frye Jane Boot
Elizabeth and James pleated shorts
I'm not trying to brag (or am I?), but I must have the best luck at Nordstrom Rack... probably because I go there at least once a week to scour the clearance racks. The Frye boots were only $80 because they were "worn and refinished" but there were no scuffs at all on the leather sole, and they looked completely new! The only thing I can find that's wrong with these is the stitching came out in a small section, but it's barely noticeable.
As for the shorts, I'm still debating whether I should keep them or not.. and right now it's gravitating towards not. Sad face. As much as I love them (they were on clearance for $56, which is a steal for Elizabeth and James), I have no idea where I'd wear them to. They're too short for work or church, and too trendy for running errands, and I don't do much outside of those activities. They're suuuuuuuper cute, but just not practical for my lifestyle. My budget is already super tight and I don't need them. Ugh. Can't decide.
PS. Yes, I have another post titled "Lace of Base" - I'm pretty creative.
