I'm pretty hesitant to jump on new trends (or, in this case, a resurrected trend) but I've been wanting to try out the denim on denim after seeing it on a bunch of other bloggers. I wasn't ready to wear it to work, so I wore in on my day off for running errands at McDonald's, Costco and the mall. I know, my life is so glamorous. I usually like to "test out" outfits before I wear them for real (aka, to somewhere where there are people I know, not just random strangers) and decide if I like it or not.
I'm still not sure if I liked it though. I did, however, decide it was too hot to be wearing while chasing after a two year old through the mall. A two year old who saw mommy sitting on the rock and insisted that he sit on the rock too. I'm setting a bad example.

I like it! I think using the belt to divide the two shades of denim really helps to make it look deliberate and pulled together! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the jean on jean look! It looks awesome on you! You pull it off well!
ReplyDeletei can never do denim on denim together but you're inspiring me. you look lovely!

AH, Mister P, you're killin' me!!! So cute! And Momma is looking good, too, I think the shades of denim contrast perfectly :)
ReplyDeleteI love people who set bad examples for kids! Jack once was making faces back and forth with a kid on a greyhound bus and put one of the complimentary bags on his head like a hat... well, the kid's head was a lot smaller and put the bag over his face - the mom was not happy. P looks super cute and excited to be on that rock, I think it's worth it.
ReplyDeleteJean on jean is a scary thing, especially if you're old enough to remember the 80s and 90s. I think you did a great job with it but I understand if it still makes you feel icky, it's why I have yet to try it out even though I usually love how others style it.
Haha! Jack's story is hilarious. And yeah, I totally remember the 80s and 90s. That's why I'll never be able to wear jean jackets even though they're supposed to be "in" this year! :(
ReplyDeleteI do like it... the belt is perfect to break it up!
ReplyDeleteHello! I found you through Kendi's blog! Love the denim on denim look, I'm hoping to try it soon, too. Your son is so cute!!
ReplyDeleteAw what a handsome little fella! And that's a great top you're wearing.
ReplyDeleteA combination I always stuggle with, love your style! Anne x
ReplyDeleteThis is still a trend I really want to try, but I haven't found a chambray (or similar) shirt that fits well. And it's a million degrees too hot to wear more than my underwear.
