Once again, I'm participating in Kendi's 30 for 30 remix challenge, which means I'm picking 30 items of clothing and remixing them into 30 outfits over the course of 30 days. I will attempt to not shop during the 30 days, but hey, I'm going to be on vacation in Boston for half the time and I'm pretty sure shopping will be involved.
It's taken me a long time trying to finalize the 30 items. I had a certain set in mind, but then I tried them on in front of my mirror with the combinations I had in my head... and um.. let's just say, they looked different from what I had in my mind. After a bunch of last minute swaps, I'm finally happy with my picks. I'm keeping one spot open for a wildcard item, which I'm hoping will be either a mustard yellow skirt or pink skinny pants. Whichever one I find first, I guess.
So, without further ado, I present to you, the twenty-nine:

I LOVE seeing people's picks for this challenge. I'm so nosy, and I love comparing all the different capsule wardrobes, and how people balance out their items.
ReplyDeleteThat happened to me too - sometimes things just look different in your head than they end up looking in reality... Took me a long time to pick my items. Fun to look through yours though - looking forward to seeing what outfits you've come up with!
ReplyDeleteYeah! Can't wait to see what you do. I have that exact same Target shirt - did you get yours for $5 too?
ReplyDeleteI am going to start adding where I got stuff, per your request :)
Yeah. Can't wait to see your remixes ... hoping the mustard skirt makes the list :)

Fun! I would do this myself except that since I am currently a SAHM with a 4-month old, I pretty much wear the same thing everyday anyway! :) You know what else is great about picking your 30 for 30? Super easy to pack for your trip! I hope you find your skinny pink pants and mustard skirt and that you tell us where to get them for cheap!
ReplyDeleteI want to hear the story on your Elizabeth and James shorts! Where did you get those? And...you seriously have awesome clothes. I want all your tank tops!
ReplyDeleteYay!! I can't wait to see how you style everything!
ReplyDeleteGreat selections! Love the shorts xo
ReplyDeletecant wait to see wat you come up with. I have the same steve madden sandals in silver!
ReplyDeleteGreat Picks.

Yay glad to see you doing this as well. I'm most excited about your E+J shorts and Banana pink tank. Can't wait to see you style them :) And I hope you find a mustard skirt or pink skinny pants in Boston!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the outfits :)
ReplyDeleteI cant wait to see your card item potentially a purchase from Boston? :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your 30x30 Kimmie!! Good luck! :)
ReplyDeleteI have several of the same items, so I REALLY can't wait to see how you pair/style them. Pink skinny pants, yes please!
ReplyDeleteI had a 30 picked out and it has been colder here than I anticipated so I had to switch some pieces out for different ones so I can remix and not freeze. Such is life. Your set looks fun and I'm looking forward to seeing what you make of it!
ReplyDeleteNo, mine was $10 :( but I had a $2 off coupon!
ReplyDeleteThere are two mustard yellow skirts that I found on the F21 website: http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?catalog_name=FOREVER21&category_name=BTMs_Skirts&Page=1&product_id=2074201229&utm_source=GCS&utm_medium=base&utm_campaign=product_feed and http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?catalog_name=FOREVER21&category_name=BTMs_Skirts&Page=1&product_id=2000000511&utm_source=GCS&utm_medium=base&utm_campaign=product_feed that I'm hoping to find in store (I went yesterday, and the last one was on a mannequin, so I'm going to try another store tomorrow) Crossing my fingers they'll have my size AND that they're not too short in person (because they look TINY on the model!)
ReplyDeleteI got them super marked-down at Nordstrom Rack but they were still kind of expensive :( I wrote about them in a post here: http://www.bluepaperlanterns.com/2011/06/ace-of-lace.html :)
ReplyDeleteIt was raining today, and I was instantly regretting adding so many tank tops to my picks.
We're totally sandal twins! I love mine! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, of COURSE you have to say that after I tried on my pink tank this morning and realized how weirdly long it was and how I want to swap it out now. I guess I'll have to make do with it though because I don't want to disappoint you! heh ;)
ReplyDeleteMe too! I had planned my items when it was all sunny out, thus the only one pair of closed toe shoes and all the tank tops. Then this morning it was totally raining and that one pair of shoes did not match my outfit, so I had to throw in another pair of closed-toe flats. I'm trying to decide what I can swap out because I was set on getting some new clothes for my wildcard item! :(
ReplyDeleteYayy, I'm so glad you're participating Kimmie! Can't wait to see all your outfits!
ReplyDeletei just got a pair of pink skinnies from Gap Kids. they were super marked down - i think i got them for $8.99! i think they are supposed to be "crop skinnies" but to shorty little me, they hit just right at the ankles! you might still be able to find some if you hurry...!
ReplyDeleteOooh! I was just at the mall yesterday, I should have checked! Maybe I'll try to go this weekend. I really like Tiffany's pink Zara pants so I'm crossing my fingers I'll find a pair when I'm in Boston!
ReplyDeleteI love your items, and I love how you laid them out - very nice cropping skills. I've also been lusting after some pink skinnies but have yet to find the perfect pair... here's hoping you find them and I can copy! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of awesome picks from you! I want the target wedges (middle one). I am going there later after work!!!! You influenced me. :P
ReplyDeleteLove your picks and I'm excited to see your outfits for this round! I've been pretty spontaneous with my picks and already I've had to swap things in and out so I won't look completely ridiculous. lol. =)
