[Summer 30 for 30: Outfit 1]
Striped tank: Karen Kane
Cardigan: Hazel (hand-me-down)
Jeans: J Brand Love Story
Shoes: Target
Please excuse my weird grimace in these photos. It was overcast when I found the perfect spot to take pictures (look! you can see Lake Washington! and the Seattle skyline! and an itty bitty little Space Needle!) and right as I took out my camera, the sun came out. I waited around to see if the sun would go back behind the clouds, but no luck. I'm squinting in every single picture, and unfortunately these are the best I could pull from the batch.
Right after I wrapped up and was driving away, the sun went back behind the clouds. OF COURSE.

Although you are squinting, you still look great! Love the stripes paired with the green cardi. And your backdrop is amazing!

The background is so amazing! And I love the colour of the cardigan. Mother nature likes to make fun of us while taking pictures :)
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous photos! The sun has actually made the background look kinda grainy, vintage. I dunno photography terms, so I'm trying my hardest to describe it. It looks great! And you look great! Those trousers are amazing on you!
ReplyDeleteThat view is gorgeous! And the photos turned out fantastic for being so sunny.
ReplyDeleteI always forget you live in the North West like me! Yey for Oregon and Washington! xo
ReplyDeleteI didn't even notice the squint b/c I was so mesmerized by the skyline. What amazing clouds!! These are beautiful photos Kimmie, and your outfit fits the scene so well :)
ReplyDeleteSquinty or no your outfit is adorable! Green is a favourite of mine. :)
ReplyDeleteI like your outfit pick for today, it turned out well in spite the contrast in color. I love your humor, nature does play tricks on us every once in awhile ;) - Mar

Haha! so true :)
ReplyDeleteI love how the sun makes the pictures look.. the colors are so much brighter and crisper, but then I'm all squinty-eyed. Maybe I should just wear sunglasses 8)
ReplyDeleteEasy for you to say because I'll bet YOU never have to deal with squinty-eyes in your photos! :)
ReplyDeleteBut thanks! I love the view from up there. :)
It's actually up by my parents house on a hill in Bellevue. It's mostly residential so there's not many places to actually take pictures.. I was lucky to find a spot that wasn't blocked by any houses :)
ReplyDeleteApparently the sun has a sense of humor. Not appreciated. :)
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic in those pants, and I love the pop of green in the cardigan. Yay for stripes, too!
Come take a look inside A Working Mom's Closet
There is no such thing as too sunny! I love this color combination. I'm a sucker for stripes and you know how much I dig those jeans. Love it!
ReplyDeleteOoh, what a great view! At least this isn't a problem you have to deal with too often...whereas I feel like I only see a few overcast days a year!
ReplyDeleteThe only time the sun shows up for me is when I want to take photos or I am at work. Boo, sun, boo. At least your outfit is killer! I'm a sucker for stripes and the color of your cardigan rocks.
ReplyDeleteOh I love that hill - it's a perfect spot to watch the blue angels, too :) Squinting or not, you look totally cute!
ReplyDeletegurrrrrl these jeans are AMAZING ON YOU!! they fit you like a glove!!!
ReplyDeletecongrats on starting to 30X30!! Great first outfit; look forward to seeing how you style the rest of the outfits.
ReplyDeleteHaha, this is why I crop out my head! Or wear sunglasses now, even when it's not sunny out :) Seattle is beautiful. I don't know why I'm always picturing a bustling scene, but I like your outdoorsy pics. It perfectly matches your green cardigan.
ReplyDeleteAh hah! That always happens to me ...
ReplyDeletePS I featured you on my blog yesterday (again?).

ReplyDeleteyou had me the the stripes ) and then you added the green cardi and i'm in love. you look casually cute. have fun with the rest of the 30!
ReplyDeletei can see why you love the J. Brand Love Story jeans so much. they fit you perfectly and are so super flattering!
ReplyDeleteand i love the backdrop for the picture!
cute & little
I know! I LOVE the sun when I'm not trying to take pictures. It's just that I prefer an overcast sky so I don't get so many harsh shadows :( But of course it only comes out when I'm working or can't enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I should get some cuter sunglasses. I tried taking pictures in my sunglasses the other day and I realized they weren't very flattering on my face shape. Time to go shopping I guess 8)
ReplyDeleteThe city itself is more bustling, but we live out in the suburbs so there's lots of green :)
Thanks Kileen! They are my favorite jeans ever. I just hope the flares don't go out of style too soon! :(
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks Kelly! I'm flattered!
ReplyDeletePOW! these jeans make you look like you can kick some serious butt! :)

I especially like the last photo. Your photos are always excellent, but usually softer in tone...(probably due to Seattle clouds!) it's interesting to see such a bright photo! It feels kind of L.A.! :) I need a green cardigan!
ReplyDeleteI loved the weather today in Scotland! was so lovely finally having some sun and blue skys to blog about! Your look is lovely :)
ReplyDeleteOf course the sun would come out! You look beautiful, in the rays! And I love the bright green against black and white!
ReplyDeleteI had your home to myself for two days, and so on Sunday morning, I was busy cleaning
