Cheese with my whine

[Summer 30 for 30: Outfit 23]
Top: Charlotte Russe
Skirt: Forever 21
Shoes: Target
Necklace: Target

On this particular day, I ignored the thunderstorm forecast and spent extra time on my hair in the morning, and I didn't bring an umbrella to work. Pretty stupid, because I ended up getting drenched while running back to the office after lunch. Also, this skirt wrinkles so easily. I swear it looked fine in the morning!

My 30 for 30 this time around is not very exciting. My outfits have all been pretty boring/simple, and I'm not being very creative or inspired. I feel like I've worn all possible combinations already (minus the three pairs of shorts I included.. ugh) and I'm running out of ideas and motivation. Now I'm just throwing together stuff, and posting outfits I don't really like. BUT, I'm not a quitter (just a complainer), so I'm going to keep trekking through these last few outfits. I'm warning you now that there's going to be a few more "filler" outfits before this thing is done. There's my whine-fest for the day.

Hope you're having a good weekend!

  2. I adore that skirt!! It livens up any outfit, therefore making this totally not boring at all. =)

  5. Your hair looks pretty fabulous even if you did have to run through the rain.

  6. Ironic. You spend the post ' whining' and I spend the post thinking about how awesome this outfit is! I love this skirt on you! The color is fantastic! I think your remixing skills are still going strong!

  9. I've never thought to pair coral with a darker grey but I really like the combo!

  10. I hate it when my clothes wrinkle!  For some reason, when I'm trying clothes on, I never think about their wrinkle factor.  :/

You look cute, nonetheless.  I love the color & scalloped edges of that skirt.

  11. You may not feel like this is a good outfit, but I think you look darling. I love the scallops on the skirt! Only a few outfits left...you can do it!

  12. Just more proof we are likely related. I am also very un-inspired this time round, and feel as though it's dragged on wayyy too long. However I also cannot allow myself to quit so I'm just churning them out, waiting for it to end. On the plus side, you look wonderful and I think this outfit it very nice!

Oh my goodness, your hair looks amaaazing!  Mine just goes super frizzy in the rain :( I like the outfit too, especially the hem of the skirt and the necklace!

  15. Haha, doesn't it? I really love this skirt too. But I feel like my "formula" for outfits are so boring. One top, one bottom, one accessory. But what else can I do? It's not like I'm going to layer stuff when it's getting hot! :(

  16. Aw, thanks Lizzie. You're so sweet!

  17. Haha, thanks Emily. I only had to run 1.5 blocks, so it wasn't too bad. But still, it did look better in the morning. :)

  18. Thanks, Kayla! I wasn't trying to fish for compliments with my whining, but you're too nice. I guess it's hard to be that creative in the summer and I was feeling uninspired, but thanks for the kind words! :)

  19. I KNOW, right? Stuff always looks good when you try it on, because you're standing up. But I need to start doing the "sit down" test on clothes, because too much of my clothes wrinkle way to oeasily, or worse, cut into my stomach and make breathing difficult. HAHA. That's clearly a sign of something being too small.

  20. Me neither! I actually wore a black blazer over it all, which I really liked too, because it made the skirt stand out more. But I took it off for pictures, since it wasn't in my 30 items :(

  21. Thanks, girl! I just feel like my outfits lately have been following the exact same formula without much variation, but I guess summer calls for simple outfits, so it's okay.

  22. Hahah, yes we are totally related! Maybe even the same person. :)

I think the summer 30 for 30 was a bad idea. it's not like I'm going to be layering stuff when it's so warm out. And I didn't include enough shirts, but whatever. I'll get through this thing. Good luck with the rest of yours!

  23. Haha, must be all the hair spray keeping it down :)

  24. Your outfit is so cute! I love the pink scalloped skirt.

  25. Don't feel bad, Kimmie. The home stretch of 30x30 is always the hardest. I probably ended up re-wearing an exact outfit but just swapped out the accessories the last time around, lol. Keep up the good work!

  26. With the shorts that you have, you can wear leggings with boots or chucks

  27. I might just have to go out and steal this look from you! Super cute, I wouldn't call it a "filler outfit"!
