[Summer 30 for 30: Outfit 16]
Denim shirt: Gap (thrifted)
Skirt: Ralph Lauren (thrifted)
Belt: Banana Republic Factory Store
Sandals: Old Navy

A couple things:
1) Apparently, I'm unable to do the mouth-half-open thing that the model behind me is doing in the last photo. I look like I'm about to sneeze.
2) I need to stop attempting to cut my own bangs. I was sick of how long they were getting so I went ahead and cut them myself. But now they're impossible to style, so I just pinned them back... which makes me look like a boy. Not a very good look, and I've learned my lesson.
3) I should not wear this shirt around P anymore. Two-year-olds like opening buttons.

Ha, ha .. number 1 made make laugh out loud. And please tell me you took these photos yourself. The thought of you posing like this with a camera on self-timer is just too funny ...

At least your outfit fits right in with the model, even if you can't do her face :) Looove the white + chambray combination. So summery.
ReplyDeleteLOL - yes sometimes the expressions models have just don't translate to the real world :)
ReplyDeleteHa, yes, and low cut shirts aren't safe around my 3-year old! lol Occasionally, he'll just pull it down to see what else is in there. I'm like, "Son, seriously?!? Stop it!" lol
ReplyDeleteI just love that denim shirt! I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for one.
For a minute there, I thought that was your husband in the 3rd photo, but then I saw the gigantic girl in the last photo. It all makes sense now :)
ReplyDelete2) If that's the case, then I'm a boy everyday, hahaha.
3) No words. P never fails to make me laugh :)
haha. I've cut my own bangs a few times, and it never turns out that well, but sometimes I don't think it's worth a trip into the salon just to get my bangs trimmed.
ReplyDeleteThey always grow out, at least. :D
LOL last photo is so silly, i laughed! :)
ReplyDeleteHahhaha. I love your last photo. I've always thought that model was doing the weirdest pose! And you look fabulous in that denim top and pink skirt!
ReplyDeleteHahaha no, I'd be too embarrassed if I used a tripod! My husband took these pictures and insisted that I take them in front of the Verizon store where they had these huge people on the windows. :)
ReplyDeleteI know! I should have worn my striped shirt though. Oh well :)
ReplyDeleteI can never pull off a J-Lo face.. I guess I don't have any sexy Latina inside of me. :(
ReplyDeleteHaha! that's too funny. My kid will sometimes just stick his whole arm down my shirt. So inappropriate! Oh, and the other day, I was making fun of his little protruding belly, and he reached over and grabbed my boob and said "momma belly!" in front of my whole family.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Oh you know us, we like to blow up 10 feet tall photos of ourselves and put them on our windows :)
ReplyDelete...and I highly doubt you'd ever look like a boy. You're such a girly girl :)
I know! I don't really feel like I need a full haircut right now, and I've already gone in for a bang trim not too long ago so I'd feel funny getting another one without the haircut. Glad that they grow out quickly!
ReplyDeletelove this look, the denim shirt is so chic against the white skirt!
ReplyDelete(lol @ #3)
Haha, I was trying to figure out what she was doing with her arms, hence my awkward hands. The skirt is actually white... but through my editing I guess I accidentally turned it pink. Oops!
ReplyDeleteLol! Too funny about your boy and your shirt. I love the attempts to mimic the models on the window. :p
ReplyDeleteHahaha, you do look a little like you're about to sneeze. I love this outfit though, the chambray and white work so well together!
ReplyDelete1. i can't pull that mouth half-open look either.
ReplyDelete2. i think the pulled back bangs look cute!
3. i somehow end up unbuttoning my own shirts and don't notice until i'm flashing half the world. LOL.

Cute outfit! I recently picked up a short sleeved denim shirt for $4 on sale at Gap..I hope it turns out as cute as your outfit! Just discovered you blog and I am following...that makes me your 400th fan ;) Hope you make an appearance at bravoe runway...I am running a giveaway today ;)
ReplyDeletewhere do you go thrift shopping in seattle? annnnd ive learned my lesson on cutting my own bangs too. yikes! disaster.
ReplyDeleteI usually just go to Goodwill. Sometimes I'll visit Plato's Closet, but
ReplyDeletemostly just Goodwill!
Thanks for following!! And I'm pretty sure you can make anything look cute
ReplyDelete:) $4 is such a steal for Gap these days! Their prices seem to have inflated
a lot recently.
hi, yes it was misselwood.
ReplyDeleteI cut my bangs all the time, like every week! Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't (and then I just wear a headband until the following week).
ReplyDeleteI love your model pose, it's so candid and fun :)
i love this outfit with the denim chambray & crisp white skirt. i have the exact same shirt from gap but im so jealous you found thrifted it because i overpaid for it... although i do where it at least once a week so i guess it was worth it. you have a great blog! xx
ReplyDeletehaha i totally relate to not being able to do the open mouth thing, i dont' know how they do it!

Nah- too cute and stylish to be a boy :)
ReplyDeleteI'm just insanely lucky that I was able to find it at Goodwill! It's such a versatile shirt... my only issue with it is that I wish it were a tad bit longer. It always becomes un-tucked after wearing it for a while. I wear mine all the time too!!
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm jealous of your bang-cutting skills. Yours look great!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I know! I hate when I walk around with an unbuttoned or a crookedly buttoned shirt. It's so embarrassing!
ReplyDeleteI think I just feel really silly doing it... all my "serious face" pictures look like I'm about to start cracking up!
ReplyDeleteWell, I think the outfit is super adorable, and I don't really think you look like a boy at all, but that last picture most definitely made me giggle out loud. It's a good look for you :)
ReplyDeleteI totally almost did this exact same outfit today but my white skirt has a little bit of a print to it. Sadly my thrifted chambray top is not quite as cute as yours. I thought I loved it, but now I think it is a little too big... What to do what to do. Good job with yours though, it looks superb!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, these pictures are fantastic, Kimmie!! You are hilarious and adorable, two of my most favorite things. Thank you for the smile you've slapped on my face :)
ReplyDeletehahah you are hilarious, I love how you're attempting the models' poses in these photos. I feel as though this should be a new blogger event!
