[Summer 30 for 30: Outfit 19]
Dress: Banana Outlet
Sash belt thing: The Limited
Flats: Target
Blazer: H&M
I had to go pick some stuff up for work in the more industrialized part of town the other day... a part that I very rarely venture into, which means I got lost. Very lost going there, and very lost coming back. I guess it wasn't too bad because I found this awesome graffiti wall AND happened to drive right by Krispy Kreme, which warranted a visit from me and my wallet.
Oh, so about this wall, it's right up against a rental car lot (separated by a chain link fence), and one of the guys happened to be washing the cars, so I snuck over to take pictures when he was busy at the car wash, but little did I know, he'd come back to get the next car and witness my picture-taking awkwardness in all its glory. I smiled and said hi, because what else am I supposed to do when he's standing 10 feet away and giving me suspicious looks? At least I know I'm never going back there again.
Plus, even if I did want to find it again, I don't think I could because I was so lost at the time. Sort of like the Room of Requirement.

Love your outfit and the Harry Potter reference! ;-)
ReplyDeleteKimmie, I LOVE this dress/sash combo! I even showed you to my hubby today saying, "Look how cute she is!" This is one of those "fashion is easy for me...I just fall out of bed and look this great" outfits. I'm taking notes :)
ReplyDeletehahaah. The Room for Requirement was something I've always thought was so cool. Kind of like in the Matrix when Neo needs all those weapons & such. :)
ReplyDeleteOh I love wearing scarves as belts.
ReplyDeleteI love your dress and belt thingy. The blazer and the shoes match as well, and tone down the extra-colorful belt. You look so cute!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your blazer. And the wall looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteYour belt looks just like the wall behind you! Are you sure you didn't plan that? :)
ReplyDeleteI love the blazer and dress combination! And I totally need to do the sash belt thing more.
ReplyDeletecute & little

The outfit, the Room of Requirement metaphor - love them both. Fantastic outifit!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks, Erin!! :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't even notice. So true! :)
ReplyDeleteKimmie, this outfit is so cute! The blazer goes great with this dress and the nude flats. I'm your newest follower on Bloglovin. I resonated with stuff you wrote in your About sections...like your love for candy and for Target. And we also had big turquoise lanterns at our wedding!
ReplyDeletelol! That's an awesome background, outfit and story! I love how you embrace the awkward moments :)
ReplyDeletetotally love, especially the "sash belt thing!"

I love the contrast of the belt against the graffiti wall. And again, your bold public picture taking continues to inspire me!
ReplyDeleteThe colored sash ads fun to that dress...love how you added the blazer, makes it perfect for the office... At least you entertained the car wash guy for awhile...ha!
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha! Oh, Harry Potter...I'm going to miss you!
ReplyDeleteLove how comfy and cute this dress is, and I kind of think the sash perfectly coordinates with the graffiti background :)
this is such a perfect summer outfit! it's so easy, breezy and very cover girl. I love it and would like to borrow your dress to I can copy it... although send it a a few sizes up, I don't want to look scandalous.
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait for us to have awkward photo taking adventures together! Also, you are probably the cutest, friendliest looking gangster ever.
ReplyDeletehaha yeah i can see how awkward it is to take photos of yourself when someone is staring or looking at you.
ReplyDeleteI do love the background graffiti though..so artsy! I really like the look with the blazer on.
Aw, thanks Audrey! Big turquoise lanterns are the best, right? :) and yeah.. I have an unhealthy obsession with Target. :(
ReplyDeleteMe too! I miss harry potter already and I haven't even seen the movie yet :(
ReplyDeleteHaha! It was the last one in the store, and a petite size (I'm
ReplyDeleteborderline petite, so I can shop in both petite and regular sections),
so it's a bit shorter than normal. I'd bet the non-petite sized one would be perfect on you!
Yay! the end of summer is approaching soon. Can't wait to hang out! and you better bake me some whoopie pies!!! (just kidding!)
