Outfit 22

[Summer 30 for 30: Outfit 22]
Top: Banana Republic Outlet
Shorts: Elizabeth and James
Sandals: Old Navy
Necklace: Kenneth Cole

This outfit is from this past weekend, when Seattle finally got a bit of sun! The temps were in the 80s, and I spent it at a church retreat right by the lake. They had water sports available on Saturday- kayaks, paddleboats, inner-tubing, water trampoline thing... if I remember correctly from years prior. But of course, my little guy's 3-hour naptime happened to coincide with after-lunch free-time, and we missed all of it. I tried to wake him up from his nap early so he could at least go play in the water a bit, but he was Mr. Cranky Pants and we never even made it to the lake. So much for enjoying the sunshine :(

I don't really like these photos, but since they're the only decent ones that husband took (guess I'm not as photogenic as I thought), I have no choice but to post them... only to serve proof that I wore this, so I can cross one more outfit off my 30 for 30 list.

  1. Aw, I really like these photos! I think you ARE photogenic. I adore that ruffled top and those cute shorts. Together they make a great outfit!

I hate it when babies are too tired and cranky to have fun. I've had to miss a birthday party because my daughter was being cranky and I wasn't about to "reward" her misbehavior by taking her to a party. Stunk for me, but I hope it was a good lesson for her. Though she slept the whole ride home and didn't wake up when I had to run into the party with the gift, so maybe she didn't even notice. :)

  8. aw, yeah, it sucks sometimes. I wish I could be one of those moms that lets their kid nap on the go, but my son gets so cranky if he doesn't get enough sleep, and so I have to plan my life around nap-time. :(

And I totally get what you mean by not wanting to reward cranky behavior with going to a party! Sucks even more if you were looking forward to it.

  9. The shorts couldn't be more perfect. I love the fit and the stylish look; I don't have anything by Elizabeth and James but ever since the blogosphere went nuts with the brand I've been very interested in it. Thanks for sharing!

  11. It's been a rough one for me too. I almost feel like just making up 8 outfits tomorrow, taking pictures and being done with it.

  14. I totally wore two outfits yesterday and depending on what we're doing later, probably doing two today. I just want this thing to be DONE.
