Starting... now.

[Summer 30 for 30: Outfit 15]
Top, belt, jeggings, shoes: Target
Necklace: swap from Frances Joy

I had no idea my entire outfit was from Target until I started to list everything out. Shame on me for being so cheap.

I am pretty proud of myself though, because I went to Target last night and didn't even step foot in the clothing and apparel sections. I know there's a lot of really good clearance things because I was just at my other Target the previous day and they were already making room for fall boots and back-to-school clothes, so all the summer shoes and sandals were marked down. AND we went to the mall last night to pick up a new baseball hat for P (because I accidentally left his favorite hat on the airplane) and I resisted going into all my favorite stores despite their huge SALE signs. It was pretty painful.

But... I'm already super over-budget ($188 is supposed to last me through the end of the year. THAT SUCKS.) and I'm supposedly on a shopping ban during the 30 for 30. I'm going to try to stop shopping for realz though (except for spending my Old Navy Groupon by the end of the month). We'll see how long that lasts.

P.S. I totally feel like I've written this post before. Being over budget is the story of my life I guess... or maybe I just need to convince husband that I need a bigger budget?

  1. Welcome home! I am going to be on the east coast this weekend! I am a bit disappointed to hear it is humid out there - I was hoping to escape the Texas weather!

Looks like you got a great vacation haul...can't see them in rotation after your 30 :)

  2. To help extend the life of your money, you could do a few more 30 for 30's before the year ends! That was you'll be motivated to not spend while you remix!

  3. Ha, ha ... I just avoid going to shops all together. I find it really helps with my clothing budget. It's online shops I need to stay away from! PS Love the necklace over the shirt thing ... have been seeing that a but lately on fashion blogs & it looks great!

  4. I hear you on being over budget! That seems to be a regular occurrence for me too. Then Nate & I have to have "the money talk" and it ends with me promising to never go over budget again. But of course I do. And we have to do it all over again. lol

I'm glad you're back from your vacay! I love that cute pinkish belt you threw in there for some color. Very cute look!

  5. A) I love that your whole outfit is from target. Its a perfect example of how great someone can look without spending a fortune.
    B) Your hair is amazing. I love the waves - perfect!

p.s. I'm also always over budget. I'm going good until the end of the month, and BAM! I spend too much because I reward myself for not spending all month. Bad idea.

  6. This post reminds me of myself on a good day, when I can walk in and out of Target without wanting to look at stuff.  I have to go on a shopping ban too!  I blame it on the summer, idle hands ... Very cute outfit BTW!

  10. gosh, i love target--i wouldn't think you're cheap at all for shopping there!  most of my wardrobe is from there but i don't think it looks like it at all, you can find some really great classic pieces there.

  11. I went to Old Navy today to spend my Groupon and couldn't find ANYTHING. I picked up a few accessories and headed for the cash register and then they told me I couldn't use it for that. BOO! I guess B will be happy with his new jeans.

  12. I do the head to toe Target (or Old Navy or Loft) often--sometimes they just want to go together :) Anyway you look great--I love how the belt and necklace add such pretty colors to this look!

  13. wait wait wait, WHAT? I can't use it on accessories?!! Ugh, that sucks. Worst groupon ever. I've been there like 5 times already and can't find anything I want to buy.

  14. That's true! I don't know if I could do another 30 for 30 though, because I do like having access to all my clothes :(

I do like thrifting! and $188 DOES go a long ways there. We'll see!

  15. Haha, I know. Online shopping is THE WORST. Especially when you throw in free shipping, that's what gets me.

  16. I love that belt.  It really adds a great pop of color to your outfit!  Is it weird that I am super excited that I totally have this same shirt and I am wearing it right now?! Sometimes it's nice to know that there are fashionable people out there who are making a few of the same choices as me. Maybe I am on the right track!

  18. lol I love how your whole outfit is all Target! How do you like those jeggings? It's such a cute outfit.

  19. Eh, the jeggings are ok. I'm ready to donate them after I'm done though, the seams aren't enforced very well and I'm afraid my non-skinny calves are going to bust through them very soon. You can see the white seams in the pictures! But other than that, these fit way better than my f21 ones and I like the belt loops!
