I got up in the middle of the night just to write this post. I've been going to bed super early every day this week, and not because I want to (my to-do list is super long and the only free time I have is after my son goes to bed), but bedtime for P has become increasingly difficult. My current tactic is to lie down next to him and pretend I'm asleep. It takes almost half an hour or an hour before he stops rolling around and trying to pry my eyes open, and in that time, the "pretend I'm sleeping" usually results in "not pretending anymore." Today, I woke up at 1:30am to take out my contacts and realized that I should probably write up a post because who knows when I'll have more time to blog again. So dedicated, man.
I was excited to wear my new shoes today. I bought them on Final Sale for $20 on Piperlime last week, but as I went to go link up to the shoes, they raised the price up to $40 for the ivory or grey pair, and $30 for the brown pair, plus the sizes are really limited now. I don't get it. When the prices get slashed down on Final Sale, aren't they supposed to stay down? Another $20 pair that I was debating also got raised back to up $40 as well. I also bought a bracelet from Old Navy in the same order that was on clearance for $9 and now it's back up to $11. WEIRD. Do they always do this? I guess I don't shop online enough to notice.

This is a perfect mix of neutral and color for summer! (Also, your setting reminds me of my elementary school!)
ReplyDeleteHas P always been a bad sleeper, or is this a new thing? My little one is 6 months now and while he is nowhere near sleeping through the night, he is getting much better at falling asleep on his own (so thankful for this).
I appreciate your dedication :)
ReplyDeleteI like this simple combo - it looks polished and classic...and I love those shoes!
I like to pretend sleep too, then my husband will finally stop talking and leave me to play scrabble online. j/k! :) Lady, you are DEDICATED! Hope that bedtime with P gets increasingly easier soon!
ReplyDeleteLove your shoes. And I know what you mean about the confusion with price drops/raising. I have no clue why people do that!
Love the shoes! They look cozy too. Good luck with his bedtime! I say embrace the early bedtime. Sometimes I dream of going to bed at 8 when the sun is still up...
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is so cute! i love those shoes...that is really weird how they raise the price after it's already been on sale. Crazy! Oh the bedtime battles! We've had them here too. Here's hoping we all get some sleep! :)
ReplyDelete"Free Time" what is that? Glad you got a post in, but I understand tough bed times and mile long to-do lists.
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! The colors look so good on you. And the shoes are great - maybe I'll have to stalk them until the price goes down again. I know 6pm.com changes the prices on their shoes quite a bit and I'm not quite sure why.

Ahhhh I want to steal this top from you! I love this outfit so, so much.
ReplyDeleteI don't shop online enough to notice either, that seems pretty messed up though! Glad you snatched up those shoes when you did!
ReplyDeleteI love those shoes.
ReplyDeleteHaha, it's the elementary school I went to for Chinese school every Saturday morning when I was little. Not fun.
ReplyDeleteHe's always been a bad sleeper, but I suspect he also knows I'm too easy on him. It takes me forever and a half to put him down for naps and bedtime, but when he takes naps at my parents house, my dad says he finishes his milk, rolls over, then falls asleep almost immediately. Probably because they're pretty strict with him. I know it's not him, so it's probably just me. I'm still trying to figure out something that works. :(
I don't mind going to bed super early, it's just that I can't get ANYTHING done. :(
ReplyDeleteHahaha, that's too funny! I'm pretty sure my husband does that to me :(
ReplyDeleteYeah. I understand when stuff is on sale, the price usually goes back up after the promotion is over... but stuff that's clearance or final sale? It's weird if they raise the prices when they're trying to get rid of the inventory.
ReplyDeleteHAHA, yeah. I haven't had free time in a looooong time.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they want to keep us guessing, and not hesitate to make purchases (you never know what price it'll be tomorrow!).. but that's stupid. Oh well. Hopefully the price will come back down for you!
ReplyDeletethat's so bizarre that the prices went back up. I've never seen that happen before.
ReplyDeleteI love this skirt so much... I should have hit up the banana republic outlet store when I had the chance... dang!
Veeeeeeery Pretty!!!

I love those shoes!! and I looked up your bracelet and am pretty much crazy for it. Although I definitely want to be able to read your blog whenever I want, sometimes an early bed time is the best thing in the world.
ReplyDeleteHmm, that's pretty lame of the Gap brands, maybe it's a ploy to get us to impulse-buy rather than wait for more price-slashing. Well anyway I'm glad you middle-of-the-nighted-it (there are way too many hyphens in this comment) for us, since I'm getting mad inspiration for the colors in this outfit. Makes me want some fresh pink lipstick like yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI love that gorgeous pink color on you!
ReplyDeleteI am dreading the time when Brigid starts fighting bedtime...already, I find myself nodding off in the middle of reading whatever the bedtime book of the evening is, so I most likely will just have to resign myself to never sleeping in my bed again :)
I like your belt! The criss cross makes it special. :)
ReplyDeleteIt’s my first time to read like this article.hnjdgn
