[Summer 30 for 30: Outfit 29]
Top: Banana Republic (hand-me-down)
Skirt: Karen Kane
Belt: Charlotte Russe
Wedges: Target
I took these pictures at my old high school the other day, except that it's not old anymore. A few years after I graduated, they tore down the entire school and completely rebuilt it. This was my first time seeing the new school up close, and I'm so jealous that it wasn't so cool and fancy when I was there!
It's kind of funny that I just happen to be posting pictures in front of my high school on the day of my 10 year high school reunion. I think we had a graduating class of around 350 kids and only 50 or so are going to the reunion tonight. I looked at the list and I seriously have no idea who half of those people are, and the other half are people whose names I recognize but I don't think I was friends with them (I can't remember, my memory is so fuzzy). Only three or four of my friends are going, all of whom I haven't seen in years, so I'm expecting a whole lot of awkwardness.
But it'll be fun... if I can only decide on an outfit to wear by then.

This is such a pretty outfit! I love those sandals!!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, it DOES look super nice!! Have fun at the reunion! I wanna see what you wear!!!!
ReplyDeleteyour hair looks so cute in this post kimmie!
ReplyDeletexoxo
i love this outfit, Kimmie! You look stylish AND comfortable! This is one of my favorite looks of yours!
ReplyDeleteThey did the same with my high school. So weird to see it - it's the same location, but totally not the high school I went to!
ReplyDeleteI love this skirt!
ReplyDeleteNow I know what part of Seattle you live in! :p We are going up next weekend to visit Cle Elum, so I will wave to you!! Have fun at your reunion! My ten year is SUPPOSED to be this year, but whoever is in charge is not doing a good job, and we might not have one! So much drama about it!
I thought nothing would be awkward anymore after graduating from hs, but... reunions are probably another level of awkwardness, lol. Have a great time tonight, Kimmie! Please share any funny/awkward moments as well as your outfit please :)
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit!! you look great :)
ReplyDeleteMy HS reunion is this year too, and I just keep picturing the awkwardness. I wonder, how many people actually look forward to HS reunions? Those wedges look good!
ReplyDeleteI love that you're actually attending your HS reunion. I'm excited to see what you wear tonight... I might go a little corny and rock my school's colors. haha. :D
ReplyDeleteYou must be class of 2001 like me! My husband and I went to the same high school and we're not sure if we want to go to the reunion.
ReplyDeleteCute outfit!
I hope you had a great time -- can't wait to see what you wore.
ReplyDeleteWith how online my graduating class has been (facebook and such), I don't know that we'll have a formal reunion when the time comes around ...
It's funny ho I expected my high school to stay the same forever. They actually torn my school down the year after I graduated, and built this new amazing school. I hope you have fun at your reunion!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute outfit and I love the wedges!! Enjoy your reunion!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear how it went! I missed my last year and totally regretted it but flying home for a reunion seems...excessive.
ReplyDeleteHigh School memories are the weirdest. I feel like it wasn't that long ago, but I can't remember most people in my class either. Facebook has helped some. I can't wait to hear how your reunion went!
ReplyDeleteLove that Banana top. That color is great with your skin tone!
Your hair looks so gorgeous! Reunions are super awkward especially if you haven't met each other in years. Hope you had a great time :) xo
ReplyDeleteYou look great! I love how pretty this outfit looks on you, and those sandals are fab. Can't wait to see what you wear for the reunion.
ReplyDeletenooooooooo way. my friend, jocelyn organized the NHS 10 year reunion. small world. hope you had fun!
ReplyDeleteOMG Small world! I've known Jocelyn for 14 years!! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I didn't end up taking any pictures. Oh well!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tiffany! They're super comfortable, which is a plus!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Chelsea!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks, Sangrona! :)
ReplyDeleteI know. The people that have seen the inside of it say it's super high tech and awesome inside. Wish they would have started construction 7 or 8 years earlier!
ReplyDeleteHAhaa, I know, I totally just told the world where I went to high school. Cle Elum? Dang, that's out in the boonies! haha j/k :)
ReplyDeleteIt was fun and not too much awkwardness. No funny stories though :(
ReplyDeletehahaha. i love jocelyn!!
ReplyDeletei went to high school around the corner at sammamish. my 10 year will be next year. siiiiiigh.
I'm impressed that you decided to hit the reunion...my husband and I both decided to skip ours when they hit a couple of years ago. I just couldn't bring myself to do it...but I hope you have some fun stories to share from yours :)
ReplyDeleteI really, really love this outfit. It's so fun and flowy...I adore the skirt!!
haha, I guess if you were super popular and cool in high school (and stayed that way) then you might look forward to them?
ReplyDeleteAre you going to yours?? :)
HAhah our school colors were red and yellow (scarlet and gold, I should say) so there's no way I'm dressing up in McDonald's colors :)
ReplyDeleteAw! that's so cute! I realized that there are quite a few high school sweethearts that got married or are still together from our class. So glad to see the relationships still going strong :)
ReplyDeleteYou should go to your reunion! At least you have your husband to keep you company if it does get awkward :)
Facebook has made reunions not so special anymore, because everyone still keeps in touch (digitally at least) and already knows what you're kind of up to. But it's still fun to see old friends in person. Also, even though so many people still live so close, the "hey let's get together sometime" thing never works, so it's nice to have a designated time/place set to hang out :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I thought they would at least keep SOME parts of the high school the same, but it's completely different. Oh well!
ReplyDeleteOh, Sammamish, huh? :) And class of '02? We probably know a lot of the same people.
ReplyDelete...YEAH, I'm totally not a stalker. But we have 22 mutual friends on facebook. :)
Yeah, I was guilt tripped into going, but glad I did! :) and no, no fun stories, unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Charlene!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rhonda!
ReplyDeleteYeah, if I had to fly home, I probably would not have made it. But since it was just Belltown, it was fine :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I did like high school, but I hated all the drama and stuff that teenagers go through. I'm glad it's over!
