I'm sure a lot of you have heard about all the various monthly subscription boxes, where you pay a set amount of money per month and you get a box filled with carefully selected goodies, whether it's beauty products, jewelry, eco-friendly products, snacks, nail polishes, clothing, or other fun things.
I've been tempted to sign up for every single subscription box that I've come across (because who doesn't like surprises in their mailbox every month?) but I'm always afraid I won't like the products they send, or I just take a look inside my makeup drawer and realize how many unopened samples are sitting there unused.
It wasn't until I came across petiteBox that I really became interested. They are a brand new monthly subscription service for pregnant ladies and new moms, founded by successful European beauty box brand GlossyBox. I love that the boxes focus as much on pampering mom as it is on nurturing babies, which I had not seen before!
Each box comes with 4-7 carefully curated products picked especially for the stage the mommy/baby is in, so pregnant mothers will receive pregnancy-specific items, and the boxes for 3-month old babies would have different products than the boxes for 10-month old babies. They cater to the exact stage that mother and baby are in, ranging from 17 weeks pregnant to babies up to 12 months old. All you have to do is enter in your due date or your child's birthday when you sign up.
Even though I'm currently pregnant (due date is a month away!) I was graciously sent a 2-month old baby box to test out and review. The box itself was so pretty, and all the products that were included were things that I would actually use! No useless samples to stuff in my makeup drawer :)
Included in the two-month baby box were:
MD Moms Baby Silk cleansining towelettes: I've seen these at the store before but are too high-end for my frugal budget, so it's great to be able to try them out. I'm saving them for when baby comes.
Two MAM pacifiers: P used this brand of pacifiers everyday until he was 6 months old, so I'm familiar with the quality of these, and it's funny that they were on my to-buy-before-baby-arrives list, so I'm glad I can cross that off.
Angel Dear frog blankie: soooo soft!
Earth Friendly Baby organic bubble bath: P already tried it out and here is his review: "Oooooh lot of bubbles! Bubbles smell like lemon!"
Weleda face products (cleansing lotion, facial cream, and day cream): I've already tried them all out and I love them. Super hydrating and fragrance-free.
The value of the products was much more than the cost of the box ($25 per month which includes shipping, but if you sign up for 3 or 6 month subscription, you can get a discount), and they are all high-end products that are unique and useful.
Also included in the box was a product card explaining every item, as well as a "Handbook" that has a ton of tips and how-tos for the specific stage your baby is in. They really put a lot of thought into each box!
Overall I loved my petiteBox and can't wait to sign up for a regular subscription. It's so nice to be able to get a surprise in the mailbox once a month for you AND baby. And of course, you can cancel your subscription at any time. I highly recommend them!
Oh and Mother's day is coming up, and a petiteBox subscription would be a wonderful gift for expecting mothers or new moms *HINT HINT, HUSBAND* :)
petiteBox was nice enough to let me give away one petiteBox to a Blue Paper Lanterns reader! If you're not pregnant or a new mom, a petiteBox would be a wonderful gift for an expecting friend or a new mom :)
To enter, just follow petiteBox on twitter (@petiteBoxus) and leave a comment here stating who the petiteBox would be for and which box (pregnancy or a new baby from one to 12 months) you'd pick.
If you do not have a Twitter account, you can choose to "Like" petiteBox on Facebook or subscribe to their email newsletter and leave a comment here letting me know (as well as who the box is for and which box you'd pick).
Giveaway is open to readers with US mailing addresses, and will end at noon PST on Tuesday April 17, 2012. The randomly picked winner from all eligible entries will have 48 hours to respond to my email before I pick a new one. Good luck!
Oh, and P loved the petiteBox too and brought all his toys over to come see what was inside. "WHAT'S DIS THING, MOMMY??"
