I've been wearing super simple unaccessorized outfits lately. OH WAIT. I have a super cute accessory wearing a magenta dress. Pretty much my favorite accessory ever.
But honestly, the whole "arm parties"/"arm swag"/"arm candy" or whatever the cool kids are calling it these days, the giant necklaces and multiple rings, it really doesn't suit me. Some girls make it look so effortless, and while it looks great on them, I just feel like a huge poser when I awkwardly try. I guess my true style is pretty simple and plain, but I like it that way. Plus it's way cheaper not having to constantly buy new jewelry :)
I bought this shirt when I was pregnant and it fit all the way through the end which was nice given it wasn't a maternity shirt. I've surprised myself that I still wear it, because everyone knows that when you buy clothes that you can supposedly wear during pregnancy AND post-partum, you never do because you're just soooo sick of your maternity wardrobe after popping out the baby (it can't just be me).

MY FAVORITE ACCESSORY EVER TOO. CAN I HAVE YOUR BABY.
ReplyDeleteI would have told you to go make your own, but you've already beat me to it.
ReplyDeleteYou know your baby is going to be like, super super super cute, right? Mixed babies always are.
Your adorable accessory makes me want to get a new accessory too. She is CUTE. But how could she not be? She is yours!
ReplyDeleteThose sandals are so cute! and so is your little wiggle monster :)
ReplyDeleteWho needs crap on their arms when you could (and should) be holding a baby IN your arms? She looks great on you. :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that shirt - who needs accessories with a great shape/pattern like that?
ReplyDeleteThe top is great on it own. It doesn't need any accessory but your adorable baby.
ReplyDeleteGirl, your simple look suits you! And you do indeed have the most adorable little bit of arm candy there! She is just precious!
ReplyDeleteKimmie, I have yet to "get dressed," so you're doing amazingly. I love this outfit! How'd you nurse in it? I have to know. :)
ReplyDeleteHahahah only you would ask! I'm wearing a nursing cami under, so I just untuck my outer layer shirt and nurse, then tuck it back in after :) for the past 3 months the only time I got dressed was Sundays to go to church, and even then, the longest I'd wear it is 2 or 3 hours. Every other day was in old shorts and t-shirts!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is such a cutie-pie! I'm not huge on accessories either. I find that bracelets just dig into my wrist when I'm typing on the computer or roll up and down my arm as I go about my day. I may throw on a necklace if I'm feeling daring. Your outfit looks great even without accessories!

Your daughter is super adorable! Those toes and cheeks!
ReplyDeleteI love your floral top. If I knew about it, I would've tried to snatch one up from Target myself.
I'm glad I'm not alone about feeling like a poser wearing an arm full of bangles or those chunky necklaces, or cocktail rings. I prefer nothing or something really simple, say a watch and one or two (at the most) slim neutral colored bracelets, a simple charm necklace that I just never take off and a ring that I also almost never take off. So much easier than trying to figure out what goes with what. (:
I know I'm now the 13th person to write it, but your little girl is just divine! I am so wowed by her! She could be a baby gap model for sure!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you on the whole arm candy/party/etc. bit. I love my watches and try to add in more bracelets and rings and always want to tear them off by the time I arrive at work. It makes me feel like a pirate or something! Glad I'm not the only one avoiding this trend. You look lovely in your simple looks ;)
Thanks, Lindsay!
ReplyDeleteI can't stand bracelets clanging around when I walk and type and DO ANYTHING. Too much noise! And haha, funny that you mentioned feeling like a pirate. I feel the same!
Thanks, Justine! I got the shirt last fall, so I'm guessing they'll have some similar stuff this year as well.
ReplyDeleteI think the most I can wear is a necklace and a statement ring. I can't stand too much stuff on my arms, it makes typing at a computer so hard!
Who needs accessories when you have such a sweet baby?! Love her bright pink outfit as well. Cute!

You
ReplyDeletetook the words right out of my mouth - cute baby is best accessory. She's
adorable! Love our magenta outfit! I don't accessorize much either. If I do,
it's one necklace and maybe one bracelet. No rings, except the
wedding/engagement one. And I wore non-maternity clothes while preggs too! I
still wear it these days! Not just you :D. Cute sandals.
Thanks, Lisa! Funny that you said that my sandals are cute, because I only bought them because they were on clearance at Target for like less than $5, and were super comfy. I only wear them when I run errands because I think they're not very cute, but I decided to wear them that one day because I thought they somewhat matched. I guess they're not as hideous as I imagined, haha!
ReplyDeleteAnd I see you're catching up with blog reading after your vacation! :) so many comments!
$5! Yes! Comfy! Yes! Super cute! Yes, catching up indeed!
