I had an awesome night last night. First, my 8-month old would NOT go to sleep. She woke up at 1am crying and no matter what I did to try to comfort her, she cried straight for 2 hours before going back to bed at 3. Then she woke up again at 4am crying, which was super fun, but I was able to get her back down by 4:30. Oh, and my son had caught some sort of 24 hour stomach virus a few days ago and apparently gave it to me, because I had to get out of bed three times to go puke up all my stomach acid. And you know what's even better? *TMI ALERT* My face got splashed with toilet water from my forceful puking. Yuck yuck yuck. Not enough soap in the world can wash that away.
Needless to say, I didn't sleep much last night and I called in sick today and dropped the kids off at my parents/in-laws (one for each side) so I can get some rest, but not before washing my face again for good measure. So, how was YOUR night?
PS. The outfit above was from a few days ago. I'm wearing pajamas right now, duh. Just had to turn on my computer to send a few work-related emails and figured that I couldn't fit my night into a status of 140 characters so I decided to write a post instead. :)

Ughh, oh no! Flus are the worst, I hope you feel better soon Kimmie!
ReplyDeleteOh my word, you poor thing! Feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh. What a nightmare! :( Thank God for parents & in-laws. Hope you feel better! Nothing's worse than a stomach bug. :(
ReplyDeleteThe outfit is cute though! Love the colors. :)
Aww. Sorry to hear you had a challenging night. I hope everyone feels better soon. Happy resting.
ReplyDeleteThe joys of motherhood... I'm sorry to hear that, Kimmie :( I hope you got some much deserved rest (and the bug really is only for 24 hrs)!
ReplyDeleteBeen there with vomit toilet water splash back. Shudder. Hope everyone is feeling better!!
ReplyDeleteOh no!! Feel better soon, Kimmie! It's so nice that both of your in-laws are so close and willing to help with the kids. My mom is so weird with kids. I have no idea how she raised us.
ReplyDeleteMy night? If I eat sugar within a couple hours of going to bed I get weird dreams. And I had a bowl of ice cream late last night, bad idea. I dreamed of being in a restaurant of vampires wanting to drink the delicacy of Lady Gaga's blood, to the next scene being that I found out that one of my friends robbed my car to sell the stuff in it so that they could buy me a birthday present....? Yeah, no more ice cream before bed.
Awful, Awful, Awful!! When I sit and think about it, I get worried about if I get sick and have kids at the same time! Figure it's bound to happen. Great thing my parents & in-laws live close too!
ReplyDeleteAww, I do hope you feel better very soon! Your ironic tone is funny, though. A great advantage for a blogger =]

Oh man! I feel for you! There is nothing worse than the backsplash of a stomach flu. I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteOh your poor thing! I hope you get some good rest this weekend and feel better soon. :)
ReplyDeleteOh no! I'm so sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Stomach bugs are horrible. I hope you can get some rest and find yourself feeling back to normal tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear that you & the baby are sick. Hope both of you feel better soon.

Ugh! That's the worst! I hope you feel better soon and your babies do, too! BTW, this necklace is awesome!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your "awesome" evening! The bright side is your parents and in-laws are close enough and available to take care of your kids while you recover. Hope you feeeeeeeel betttttter!
ReplyDeleteA helpful hint for next time -- if you can make it to a kitchen sink (with a disposal) you don't have to risk the potty water. I hope everyone is better soon.
ReplyDeleteHaha, that would require me going down the stairs to the kitchen, when the bathroom is so much closer ;) But I totally agree, kitchen sinks are way better, not only do I not have to squat, but I don't need to risk toilet water splashback :)
ReplyDeleteI know! My son spent the night at my parents, and my daughter spent the night at my in-laws (first time away from me overnight!) so I was able to sleep a glorious 10 hours straight :) Felt so much better after that!
ReplyDeleteyes! thank goodness it only lasted for 24 hours. I was DYING.
ReplyDeleteI love your boots :)

haha, maybe it will be different if it's her own grandchild?
ReplyDeleteand LOLing at your dream, so weird!
Thanks, Laura! :) all better now!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kelly! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynette! And yes, thank goodness for parents and in-laws. It's absolute torture to take care of the kids when I'm sick, so the grandparents are a total lifesaver.
ReplyDeleteThanks, emily! :) All better now!
ReplyDeleteHAHA, it's the worst feeling in the entire world. All I was thinking was, "WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME I SCRUBBED THIS TOILET? YUCK YUCK YUCK"
ReplyDeleteYeah, getting sick with small children is the worst! And it's bad because I haven't slept a whole night through in the longest time, so I'm sure my immune system is not up to par. But thank goodness for parents and in-laws!
ReplyDeleteAMEN. And feeling better today! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, CC!
ReplyDeleteThanks, brynn! And thank goodness stomach bugs are only short lived, because I'm mostly better today, just a little weak because I didn't eat anything yesterday.
ReplyDeleteAnd PS, you should link your Disqus account to your blog, so it's easier for people to click over :)
Thank you, Alice! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ana!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tip! I had registered for a Disqus account way before I had a blog...I just figured out how to merge them...I think :)
ReplyDeleteI thought there was going to be a happy ending like...but then I found out I won the lottery so toilet face be damned!
ReplyDeletesad :(
and puking into a sink sounds so strange. hahaha but so does toilet face sooooooooo.....
Girl on fire!! how can you handle all of that? Hope all is well.. you look stunning tho!
ReplyDeleteAHHH I got the same stomach virus! It's called the "winter vomiting bug" and it was probably one of the most uncomfortable feelings of my life, throwing up everything that went into my mouth. Feel better!
ReplyDeleteSounds awful. I hate stomach bugs, we all had it over Christmas. I'm glad you're feeling better! Love the outfit too.

Adorable necklace and love this blue sweater on you! And your boots are to die for!
ReplyDeleteAww hope you're feeling better! Something is def going around.. a few of my friends are coming down with the flu/cold and so are their kids. man... I need to sanitize like crazy even more!

Sink puking is so much nicer than toilet puking, if I rank them on the favorite puking receptacle scale. It's easier on the back (no squatting on the floor!) and of course, no splash back. The worst is puking-into-a-starbucks-cup-while-driving-on-the-freeway. Yeah, I'm an old hat when it comes to puking thanks to two pregnancies and a strong gag reflex.
ReplyDeleteYes! it's been going around but thank goodness it's only short lived. I don't think I could have gone on longer than a day or two feeling like that! :(
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sheila! Yes, something's definitely going around. Hope you get spared! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rachel! :)
ReplyDeleteAre stomach bugs the types of things that you only catch once and then you're immune? I have no clue, but I really don't want to ever get it again! :(
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kri!
ReplyDeleteI really wish that they were. I looked it up actually after our last dose of it and apparently you are only immune for about 14 weeks! I used to get it EVERY year when I was little and it's so rotten!
ReplyDelete14 weeks? I guess it's better than nothing. Except I'm pretty sure there are multiple strains going around so there's a higher chance of contracting another strain. Ugh, I'm ready for the winter sick season to be over!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! I'm so ready for spring, all the germs is the worst part of the wintertime!
