It is still freezing up in here, despite reading about you Californians getting temperatures in the high 70s (what? We barely get to the high 70s in the middle of the summer! Ugh). The day I wore this, it was torture taking off my warm winter coat to snap a few photos, and all I could think of was "whyyyyyyy?" Why bother taking pictures of my outfits? They are neither groundbreaking nor inspirational. They're just everyday normal people clothes.
But I guess I like updating this blog, and my goal for trying to take pictures every work day has been going well, except for the one day when I forgot to and didn't realize it until it was too dark outside (at like 4:30pm, UGH). I actually have a backlog of outfits (actually, two. a backlog of two but still, it's a backlog), but sometimes I just have nothing to say in my post, because it's JUST CLOTHES so the pictures just sit in my drafts for a few days before I finally think of something to say. Obviously that did not happen because this post really has no point. Okay, Bye!

I love your adorable outfits. Please keep braving the cold. ;)
ReplyDeleteA lovely way to winterize a summer dress! That kind of floral print is making me look forward to spring!

I like how you worn the belt backwards this dress and what a great way to incorporate a summery dress for winter. I am enjoying the Southern California heat wave as much as possible - it is suppose to be cold again on Saturday.

Lol, I know what you mean about thinking up outfit descriptions and words and stuff. xD I love that dress on you! Super cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks for standing in the cold for us! BTW, I bought not one, but TWO pairs of these fleece lined tights and I LOVE THEM! I'm cracking up at the two post backlog, but only because I am envious. I'm always behind somehow.
ReplyDeleteI just recently found your blog, and I love it! I like how you make Forever 21 clothes look more mature and high end, (I'm 35, so I feel like most of their clothes are too teen for me.) and you've helped me to put things together that I normally wouldn't have. Keep posting!
ReplyDeleteLove your F21 dress!! It looks so cute with your cardigan and boots!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about it being cold. It's so frigid here in Minnesota. :( xoxo, Phoebe
I just found your blog a few days ago and it's the very fact that your clothes are very much normal people clothes, but at the same time chick and nice and special in a very practical way, is what makes them inspirational to me. I look at your posts (which I love) and immediately get ideas for my own outfits <3
ReplyDeleteIt's not in the 70s in THIS part of California, if that makes you feel better!
ReplyDeleteLove this floral dress and amazing boots!
ReplyDeletesuch a pretty outfit. I know what you mean though. I never know what to say because really what can I say about the clothes I wore to work. They're just clothes.
ReplyDeleteLove that dress! Such a cool floral pattern :)
ReplyDeleteI love how you wore the belt backwards to give it another look. Great idea! Also, I'm totally the same way.. I try to shoot photos closer to home now that we're in winter.. because once I take the photos, I run back inside to warmth. haha..

Aren't they AMAZING? I love how soft and cozy they are. The only drawback is that they pill super easily, so they either need to be replaced often, or you walk around with pilly legs.
ReplyDeleteThanks, HJM! I don't know about "mature and high end" but I try to stick to items from fast fashion stores that aren't overly trendy, and try to buy things that have more classic shapes/colors/styles. I keep telling myself to stop shopping there (and instead shop more at places that cater towards women our age like Loft, Ann Taylor, The Limited, etc.) but Forever 21's low prices keep sucking me back in.
ReplyDeleteYou must be talking about Southern Californians. I am still freezing here (hello from San Francisco).
ReplyDeletehahaha I think the "whhhyyyyyyy" to myself every day now. today when I couldn't feel my fingers anymore I was like "this is seriously the dumbest thing" but...I do it anyway. because I'm nothing but dedicated to this hobby.
ReplyDeletein other news, your legs look really skinny. I think I will send those pecan bars to you and fatten you up a bit. muhahah
this is a super cute outfit. i think my favorite outfits i see you wear have some kind of print/pattern. your fryes made me check out their website and now i want to save up for fancy oxfords....
ReplyDeleteI hope you didn't take "mature" as meaning old or frumpy, because you are so completely not! I just meant that when I walk into Forever 21 I can't see past the neon teddy bear sweaters. You do a great job of that, and have inspired me to look harder! Can't beat their prices or cute accessories, though too. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you posted this outfit because I LOVE ITTTTTT. If you don't have anything to say in the post, whatever. If you are lost for what to write about in your posts you can talk about how much you like me. :D Or all the sugar you ate that day. I would be interested in that too. But I vote for the former.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you still update! I love your blog and would be super sad if you went away. One of the reasons I like your blog so much is because your clothes are so accessible. You show all of us women that you can look stylish on a budget!
ReplyDeleteYou're so cute and your hair is so pretty! No need to say anything, the outfits speak for themselves (unless you just bought something or have a special attachment to a piece or whatever :P). Love the florals for winter with coordinating cardi.
ReplyDeleteHaha, no, I didn't take it to mean old or frumpy :) When I think "mature and high end" I think of people like Atlantic-Pacific, Wendy's Lookbook, Cupcakes and Cashmere... women who wear 5 inch heels and are dressed to the nines everyday. Although they do look amazing, it's just not my style. If I could wear flat boots every day for the rest of my life, I would :)
ReplyDeleteHah! I totally would :) But you know, writing down all the sugar I ate that day WOULD help cutting down on my snacking... HMMMM....
ReplyDeleteHaha yes! My favorite places to take pictures are the ones that I
ReplyDeletecan drive right up to, so I can jump out of the car, take a few pictures
and then jump back in :)
As for the backwards belt, it's one of those D-ring
belts and frankly I don't really like how it looks with the big gaping
hole in the middle, so I tried wearing it backwards and liked it! Though
it doesn't work I'd I want to wear it outside my cardigan :)
Thanks, jenni! And I'm glad you're getting back into blogging again! I
ReplyDeletemissed your posts. (I tried commenting on your post but the word

I don't think disqus works at all on the blogger mobile versions, or at least it hasn't in my experience. I turned off the mobile view for my blog for that very reason.
