Whatever

Tee: Target (On sale for $7 this week! Love these shirts)
Cardigan: Old Navy
Skirt: Target dress (via Goodwill) altered into skirt
Boots: Frye Jane 14L Stitch

I think I would have liked this outfit better with a brown belt, but since I needed to wear something from yesterday for the Take One Pass It On, I used the white belt, and it felt a little imbalanced. OH WELL WHATEVER.

Speaking of which, my 3.5 year old has started saying things when he's exasperated like, "whatever!" and "DUH!" and totally sounding like a moody teenager sometimes. I have no idea where he gets it from.

My husband just looked over my shoulder and he said, "he gets it from you." So, there's my answer.

Linking up for Bri Marie's Third Thursday Threads. Be sure to check out all the other ladies wearing polka dots today!

Day 8 of Take One, Pass it On!

  1. Oh, I love it when toddlers/preschoolers talk like teenagers. Seriously, kids say the cutest things. :)

Oh, and that skirt? Totally adorable.

  4. Oh exciting! I'm on the eastside too though it's just easier to say I'm from Seattle :) And you have a 3.5 year old too? Awesome!

  5. Haha, I'm all about matchy-matchy, and tend to match my belts to my shoes. I CAN'T HELP IT. :)

  7. Unfortunately, no :( I didn't watch too much TV in the 90s, all I remember is "I've fallen and can't get up!" hahaha

  8. Haha, my toddler is so moody sometimes, so I'm totally hoping that it's just a phase with the terrible 2s/3s. He does say the funniest things though!

  9. Oh man, I hope not ;) I really hope that it's just a phase!

  12. Haha, yes they do. I need to be better about writing down the things my son says. He is always cracking me up!

  13. I think I re-create the gif like....34 times a day? wait, 26 times a day.

also do you really love that skirt even though it may be too short and you've only worn it once?

  14. I think you outfit looks perfect the way it is. My son (almost 5) always says with a big dramatic sigh "ohhh great..." whenever we tell him to do something. He also makes up his own sayings like calling everyone tulip and the whatever is still very popular in his vocabulary too.

  15. Well luckily for you, your thrifted/altered skirt looks exactly like one I've seen in the Target Spring lookbook that they will probably sell for upwards of $25. Which is not a lot to spend, unless you know someone else got an identical item for $7.

Every day I tell myself I'm going to try thrifting. Then I walk into a thrift store and see a pair of dirty shoes, turn up my nose and leave. I'm so judgey.

  16. Um, also you never said your skirt was $7, I saw that number a few lines above. Now I'm judgey AND a liar? Ugh.

  19. Your son sounds adorable! And I pink puffy heart your .gif! Of course, I am partial to your Frye boots, because I have the same ones. You are doing so much better on this challenge than I am. None of my pictures even look like the same item because I swear that I cannot set my white balance to save my life!

  20. I really like the white belt actually, it ties the tee and the dots on the skirt in together nicely! :) Love your polka dot skirt too! I have a dress that I've been meaning to wear as a skirt like this, I think I'll pull it out this week!

  21. The dress was originally a strapless tube top dress that was really short, so I just cut the top part off and sewed it down so it somewhat resembled a waistband. :) Can't wait to see how you style yours!

  22. None of my pictures look the same either! I don't even know where to look for my white balance or how to do it. :(

    And Frye boot twins! yeah!

  23. Hah, well it was one of those new-with-tags-Target-item-but-sold-at-Goodwill kind of things, so Goodwill was overcharging for it, like $8 or something? A bit ridiculous when the Target clearance price would have been similar or even less, but I coudln't stand to leave the polka dots behind. Plus, I'm helping support jobs by shopping at Goodwill, right? SO I NEED TO SPEND MOAR MONEY THEN.

And you judgey judgerson, I saw your thrift loot, you did well. Even if it WAS from a consignment store *nose in air*

  24. Well since my husband and I are super mature adults, we like to talk like teenagers at home, which results in my kid catching onto things like "in your face!" and using potty humor. We really need to start watching what we say around him!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hahaha, oh yes, I'm sure your parents LOVED that ;)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hahah, what is with kids and their dramatic sighs? Mine always makes a huge production of his sighs, it's so funny.

    Tulip? haha, that's cute!

  27. LOL yes I love clothes that fit poorly, duh.

And I won't blog you for life. whatever that mean. Unless you want me to... which would be kind of weird.
