Colored blazers

I don't think these boots were the right choice with this outfit, but my toes are still in their winter hibernation stage and not sandal-ready yet. I almost wore some pumps, but I already had socks on that morning and they were feeling so nice and cozy that I didn't want to take them off. I <3 SOCKS.

I think I want a blazer in every single color. I already have an embarrassing number of cardigans in different colors, but now I'm kind of obsessed with fun-colored blazers. And right now there are just so many pretty spring-y colored blazers that I want so bad! But no, I will have to resist for now. :(

  1. My favorite part of this outfit is definitely the blazer. Great choice.

    BTW the background is lovely.

  2. There is nothing wrong with choosing comfort of style sometimes :) The whole outfit really does look fantastic. The bright blazer is stunning and the print on your shirt is very fun.

  3. I LOVE this outfit! But I have a similar (same?!) top, so I may be biased ;) I think the boots work, too. I'm more of a cardigan person, but you are getting me to re-think blazers. Such a fun colour!

  5. I like the bird print and I think it's a great complement to your blazer. I still can't find a blazer that fits. I'm wide around, but have a short torso and short arms...I would be happy with just a great black blazer! LOL! Also, I heart socks, too. :)

  6. Oooh! I like this color blazer. I remember when you first bought the shirt on eBay, I was looking at the exact shirt around the same time. Since you have experience with Asian clothing size labeling, what do you recommend I get? I'm always worried it won't fit and I will just waste money. What size did you get in this bird tee? Thanks!

  7. I'm not hating the shoe choice. I think it's fine since the jeans cover up most of them. But this is a fantastic blazer, and I can't blame you for wanting more. I'm in the same boat, but I've convinced myself out of some blazers because I have so many colorful cardigans that don't get enough wear.

  8. Ohhhh my gosh that top is just gorgeous! And yes to blazers in every color (and patterns too!)

  10. Is yours the super cheap sent-from-China bird shirt too? I love it! Except after I took it off the other day I realized that the side seam wasn't sewn very well and it's starting to come apart. Nothing that a quick stitch with the sewing machine can't fix, but annoying nonetheless. I guess that's what I get when I buy $4 shirts.

  11. Yes! you have the most envy-inducing blazer collection! I love all of yours :)

  12. Aw man, that stinks. Sorry I have no suggestions for you, but I hope that you'll find a great fitting blazer soon!

  13. When I bought the bird shirt, it was only one-size, which fits fine (though I wouldn't mind it being a little longer?). Now I see that they offer it in S, M and L, and I'm not sure what mine would translate into. I looked up the listing from when I bought mine, and for size it was listed as "S/M" so.. sorry, no help there. When I order from Asian-sizing places, I usually go with Medium, though sometimes I think I could've even gone with Large. I think you're smaller than me, so I'd either go with small or medium, though I'd recommend medium, since you can always wear a baggy shirt or even slim it down yourself, but when it's too small you can't do anything about it. :)

  14. Yeah, I used to wear cardigans so frequently, so I bought a bunch of cute colorful cardigans recently and was surprised that I haven't even gotten around to wearing a lot of them. I need to wear those before I can justify buying more blazers :)

  15. I'm still not sold on patterned blazers (unless it's stripes) because I'm not sure of how versatile they are- I love love love floral blazers but I just can't get myself to buy one because I'd probably just wear it the same way every time! But I'd totally love a blazer in every color of the rainbow :)

  16. I love the blazer with that cute printed shirt! Making that sock to no-sock transition is definitely a challenge--I hate having cold feet!

  17. Yes! My biggest issue with it is the fabric - it's soooo staticky! But what can you expect from cheapie polyester? I live in a dry climate, so that doesn't help :( But I love the print. Sigh.

  18. That top is ADORABLE. I'm with you on blazers.

  19. Gosh! We are so different! I hate socks unless I'm working out (just started wearing ankle socks with my booties this year). I own a total of one blazer that's black and only because my best friend gave it to me while cleaning out her closet (and I've yet to wear it). That said, I love seeing your teal blazer and all these options. That BR blazer is beautiful - I've seen it in person, too.

  20. I love the color with the bird print shirt :). Can't have too many colorful blazers. They're so fun and versatile.

  21. Omg.. I love blazers! My goal has been to collect them all in different colors. I have yet to get bright colors yet though.. just the neutrals.. and red. haha.. Cute outfit!

  23. Haha, I hate having cold feet too! I cringe at the thought of wearing shoes that expose the tops of my feet or my ankles when it's cold outside :(

  24. Thanks, friend! And you have such an amazing blazer collection. Totes jelly.

  25. Haha! I always forget that you don't wear blazers! So strange, since I think they'd pair really nicely with the majority of your clothes and totally fit right into your style. And I'm a total sock lover, but not those ankle no-show socks because they always slip down and get uncomfortable. :)

  26. Haha! I'm slowly venturing out of the neutral zone. I hope to get a yellow one next! :)

  27. I do love a good blazer - and yours is such a beautiful color. I still love your bird shirt, and I think it looks great with your blazer. Those jeans fit you like a dream too!! I have a dark teal blazer, but it's getting quite worn out so I don't really wear it anymore. My only other non-neutral blazer is my coral one, which I totally love and am so happy that I can finally wear it again now that it's nice outside!! I feel weird wearing it in the winter :/

  28. That pretty blue blazer is amazing! It really goes so well with the shirt's print. While I have a few colorful cardigans, now I'm wondering why I don't own any fun colored blazers ...

    ReplyDelete
  29. Haha yes! I bought a dark green blazer from J.Crew over the winter and never even got around to wearing it. I think light colored blazers are just more fun to wear!

  30. Thanks, Carrie! Colorful blazers are my new obsession, but I hate that they're so pricey (for well constructed ones at least) and are usually dry clean only, which is more work and more expensive than cardigans.

  31. I think I have to agree with you on that - I much prefer wearing my light gray blazer to any of the others - probably because most of my pants are really dark, and I like the balance of light and dark. I was wondering when we'd get to see your dark green blazer! I suppose I can wait until fall ;)
