Mint stripes

I started the day off with perfectly curled hair, but by the end of the day (when these pictures were taken), my hair was just a mess from the wind and the rain. So much rain! And probably not the smartest idea to take pictures by the water, so I'm very thankful that my camera didn't get drenched in the rain and my tripod didn't topple over into the lake.

To be honest, these aren't the shoes that I wore all day to work. I had originally thought to channel my inner Syndey (from the Daybook) and wear my Chucks that I haven't worn in 6 years, but mine are high top and they looked a bit strange with these jeans. I know some people have done it and have looked awesome, but on me, it just looked like my legs were extra stumpy and short. I cringed every time I went to the bathroom and saw myself in the full length mirror, so when I got to my car after work, I quickly changed into my backup flats.

In a perfect world, I'd wear white flats to be matchy matchy with the white chain on my necklace and the white stripes in the shirt, but since I don't have white flats, I can only dream. I was originally going to find a few pairs of white flats that I like, but then I came across this pair below and my search ended. THESE ARE PERFECTION IN A SHOE. Like, seriously. Aren't they amazing???????

My hands are very, very, very close to grabbing my wallet and placing an order immediately.

  3. You're killing me with this outfit - I love the mint, navy, grey combo - and I haz the sads because I don't have the pieces to shamelessly copy it.

    So cute!!

  4. I have the exact opposite hair problem. Mine is naturally curly and inevitably I end up wearing it straight on a day that is humid or rainy. My hair is just a big wavy poof by the end of the day! I really love your mint striped tee, by the way :)

Those are great flats - I say do it! They will go with so many colors. It would've been perfect with what you are wearing.

  10. Those flats are super cute! If you were hanging out at the park, I could understand the Chucks, but I'm not one for the sneaker + skinnies trend. You should try it anyway just to be sure :)

  11. Thanks, Ana! I've been loving pointed flats too, but a lot of the ones I've tried are uncomfortable. The reviews on the Nine West one are mixed, so I'll have to try them out for myself!

  12. Thanks, Adina! I found it really hard to wear this navy jacket because it was too close in color with my jeans, and then clashed with black pants, so I avoided wearing it for the longest time. Then I thought, DUH, wear it with grey or colored pants. I'm smart sometimes.

  14. Thanks, Sheila! I still daydream about your white flats- they are SO cute. A lot of the white flats options that I've seen look too wedding-y. :(

  15. Haha! I know aren't they just too cute? I'm waiting for a good coupon code or discount because they're still full price everywhere I've seen. :(

  16. Stop being such an enabler! haha, just kidding. I'm totally going to buy them, and pray that they're comfortable because I can't get over how perfect they are. All I'm waiting for is a good coupon code to come along!

  17. Haha, you are not helping with my budget situation! I'll definitely buy them when I can get my hands on a good coupon code because I can't get over how perfect they are, I just hope that they're comfortable!

  18. I love the subtle color as well! If it were just plain python print I wouldn't have even given it a second glance, but I am just loving the little bit of color they added in. Are you going to get them???? I'm really hoping that they're comfortable (so many pointed toe flats aren't), but right now I'm just waiting for one of the shops that carry them to come out with a good coupon code, because they're full price everywhere.

  19. Yeah, I wore that combination to the playground one day and I thought it looked fine (probably because I didn't encounter any full length mirrors) but yeah... the sneaker + skinnies trend is not for everyone... including me. Now I know not to attempt it again! Plus, my normal ballet flats are just as comfortable, and I don't have to deal with stupid laces. I just can't wear my socks with them :(

  20. I'll have to rely on your coupon/savings prowess to help me get a good deal :)

  21. Haha, I'm a bad influence ;) I can't wait for you to get them, because they are so perfect!!
